Malott 1 Posted May 10, 2006 Report Posted May 10, 2006 Alot of you guys probably already know this but for those who don't I thought this gearing chart might help. This will help you figure out your speed. http://home.earthlink.net/~gellett/banshee.htm Quote
bigboybanshee Posted May 10, 2006 Report Posted May 10, 2006 With 15/38 gearing you would have to be turnning at least 13,000rpm in 3rd to be running 79mph... 513875 Hey, I'm just going off of what the guy at the booth told me...I'm not swearing by anything. I was in bum fuck Mississippi so there's no telling Quote
race-a-holic Posted May 10, 2006 Report Posted May 10, 2006 Yeh i was able to take off very easy in 2nd with my kenda dominators 20x11x10 but ever since i put the pro wedges on 22x11x8 i have had problems. But i think i will just play around with the sprokets. Thanks for all help. 512793 Off the subject but 420 that banshee of your's is sweet.Looks really good. Quote
420_Big_Bore Posted May 10, 2006 Author Report Posted May 10, 2006 (edited) Cheers for the compliment. I might give my pistons back to the mech to open the windows up on my pistons, see how that goes, but if not i will lower my front sproket or lift the rear because as many people said those tires are heavier and taller which is making the engine work harder. Or just buy a +4 swinger. I also never mentioned that i have red label douglas not blue. Could this be affecting the problem? Edited May 10, 2006 by 420_Big_Bore Quote
23champ Posted May 10, 2006 Report Posted May 10, 2006 I also never mentioned that i have red label douglas not blue. Could this be affecting the problem? I doubt it..it doesnt make that much of a diff. Quote
420_Big_Bore Posted May 11, 2006 Author Report Posted May 11, 2006 Ok thanks. I was just curious. I will let you guys know how it goes, might have a play with the rear sprocket this weekend. Quote
420_Big_Bore Posted May 14, 2006 Author Report Posted May 14, 2006 i was thinking about this and it makes sense. Im thinking about gearing my bike from 1st to 5th or 1st to 4th. So would i go 16-40 or 15-38? Is this correct, no matter what gear i cross the line as long as i get there from start to finish as quick as possible? Ps: i drag on 200m Quote
lonestar Posted May 14, 2006 Report Posted May 14, 2006 (edited) 20" turf tamers PVL ignition [ just thinking] I still think it's his jetting diammeter or his L1 or both are wrong. He's got the wrong needle Edited May 14, 2006 by lonestar Quote
rocketboy Posted May 14, 2006 Report Posted May 14, 2006 out of curiousity who did this level2 port work in your signature? might be your porting holding you back Quote
420_Big_Bore Posted May 15, 2006 Author Report Posted May 15, 2006 The same guy who did my bigbore. But with the bigbore came pistons with large windows, and now i had to buy some more and they are smaller windows (prox racing) i was thinking of sending them back to be cut out but then, they could become weaker. Quote
bkabina Posted May 15, 2006 Report Posted May 15, 2006 I wouldnt run the pro-x pistons, and I surely wouldnt be cutting them. They are cast and weak from the get go. Quote
420_Big_Bore Posted May 16, 2006 Author Report Posted May 16, 2006 (edited) I know i should have gone with wiseco, but i messed up. And the only thing stopping me now is the $$. AU$500 for 2 pistons But how much power differnce do you think i will gain? And are they a lighter/weaker piston? Is there anyway i can order 68mm wiseco pistons over the internet? Thanks Edited May 16, 2006 by 420_Big_Bore Quote
bkabina Posted May 17, 2006 Report Posted May 17, 2006 Yeah PM PassionRe he can hook you up with pistons. Quote
420_Big_Bore Posted May 20, 2006 Author Report Posted May 20, 2006 So is it ok to gear 15-38 for 1st-4th or 14-42 2nd to 6th? Quote
