Milling stock head

Ok, I am going to have my stock head milled down to add a little compression. How much can I take off before I need to do something about the squish band? Someone told me you can just double the gaskets if you want to mill more but that seems counterproductive.

 

I think I've heard you can mill .035" off and still be fine on squish....is that right? What is the equivalent dome size for this? Can I get away with running 94 Octane on +4 timing with that or will I need to mix a little Turbo Blue in? (readily available)

Your elevation is +785 ft, chances are you'll need race fuel.

if your gonna run turbo blue run it 100% ... they rate it at 99 or 100 at the pump. my wife manages a mobile station that carries it and they test it 2 times a week for quality and octane. lol it tests out to 110 to 114 but ive always ran it in the past and its good fuel ... runnin torco now cause its .26gal cheaper .......... and ya your gonna have to do a compression test and go from there, anything over 155psi and +4 timing i would run race fuel just to be safe

youll be fine on 93premium pump gas for a .035 cut which equals 20.8cc

Why on earth would I need to run 100% Turbo Blue when I know that 94 oct is close but not exactly sure if its enough (was thinking I need 96-98 or so). Turbo Blue is 112 oct, we have something else at a Shell station about 20 miles away, cant remember the name of it but it is ~106 oct. Can't remember the name but I think its "______ red" Apparently it is actually red, but I've never seen it. Its about a dollar a gallon cheaper also. Last I checked Blue was at $5.25 a gallon $$$$$$$$$

I dunno if her tests are right... cause I deiseled on that gas last year when i rebuilt my last banshee. I had to goto RTD and buy Klotz ran fuel.

Thats it! CAM 2! I never would have thought of that in a million years. What is the octane of Cam 2?

I wouldn't mill the head more than .025'' any thing more and you'll want to change the sqwish band. I.'ll need some more info from you to figure out the compression email if you want some help. ([email protected])
