hey guys, i just had my cylinders bored .30 over, port and polish and dropped down to 17cc domes with 110 octane. now when i ride oil blows out of the overflow. a buddy of mine poured oil through the top of the case when the jugs were off to try and flush it out. I don't know if that was a good or bad thing but i never had the problem before. i have insane power but the bike loads a little if i let it idle. I'm positive its the oil making it load uop. Any suggestions? thanks

oil comes out what over flow? the one on the rear of the motor? the crankcase and the tranny are seperate spaces. if its loading up when its idling drop the pilots down one size. im still not exactly sure what ur asking tho...

Poured oil in the top of the case???? And where did he think this oil was going to go?

i question your matters. if just the jugs were off the case would be sperated. then the oil he poured in would have been burned or have flowed out the exhaust port. if its coming out the overflow id say you have positive case pressure, duh. but thats not right.

figure out why pressure is building inside the case to force the oil out.

pressure test that motor for saftey's sake ... of oil is comin outta the overflow tube then the gearcase is pressurizing ... only way that can happen is a leak from the crankcase to the gearcase :shrugani: when ya build a 2 stroke its best to use plenty of premixed fuel to flush the cases out, then use the oil you are going to run as build lube. just my .02

I have no clue, i got there and he had it ripped apart and dumped oil down into the crank. I don't really know too much about the bottom ends. but that is still something i wouldn't do. I drained the oil i had in it and am gonna change it and see if it makes a difference. I don't know, im stumped , and a little pissed

The crankcase and transmission are separate, your not draining oil out of the crankcase by removing the drain plug. If I understand you correctly you may be assuming this.

When you say the oil is coming out the overflow where exactly do you mean? I would think if there was a lot of poured oil in the crankcase it would have hyd locked. Or do you simply mean that oil got into the coolant and has been forced into the radiator overflow. If you had it bored what was the original problem? Did you pressure test the engine after you were done?

It could be as simple as a plugged vent that isn't allowing the pressure inside to equal the pressure outside therefore pushing the transmission oil out. And your other concern is as, Loco said you need to drop down on your pilots for your loading up at idle.

Kinda sounds like this may have been self induced. But I did have a problem once where I was blowing oil out the crankcase breather hose & it was a result of blown crankcase seals. Ironicly it was right after I had it ported & the head shaved for compression(culprit). Can you say SPLIT THE CASES
