I'm looking for advice on tire sizes. Right now I have a stock 2006 banshee, with stock tires all around. I want to get some better tires though for improved traction (stockers suck).Should I change the tire size when I get new tires. I'm thinking I should get one inch wider tires in the rear and maybe taller tires in the front and rear to raise my ground clearance. Any advice? How will changing the tire size affect my bike's performance, handling, speed, acceleration. What about brands, I should probably get holeshots or razrs right? Thanks for the help guys.

I use the ITP HD's, they are a little heavier but will dominate any terrain, they are amazing in mud, sand, rocky areas, and still decent on hard pack! THey are bullet proof tires, 20 in the rear and 22 in the front. I did a cross country race with them and was dancing around everyone!

IRazrs are supposed to be pretty good, kendas suck, and the ITP XC line is pretty good, there are a few to choose from!

I got some great tires for sale check out my posts. check the prices and get back to me if interested. The set up I am selling is what I use on my front and I have an extra set I don't need.

i hate to sayi use anything honda.... but the stock 250r ohtsu (spelling) tires works great. Great for most all things. I haven't had much use in pure sand with them, if that's what you are using them for. But for everything else they have worked great. :D

suprised no one said razr 2s, got em front and back and they rock first banshee i ever rode that got that good of traction, mine are 20-10-9 in rear and I get hung up here and there on deep ruts and downed trees so i might recomend 22s in the rear with 23 in front XC style setup

Does anyone have any advice on how taller tires in the rear will affect my performance??

I've got a set of 22 Holeshots on mine and I ride some pretty rough trails - depending on how rough your trails are you may want to drop a tooth in the front. The 14 is fine for regular trails with the 22's in back, but when I go areas that have really tight trails I put a 13 on front to help get on the power a little easier.

Those 22's are pretty heavy though, if you can get away with 20's you're better off IMO. Trails around my house are just too rough, hitting the read skid too much with my 20's.
