Bottom end

While I have the bottom cracked open are there any suggestions I should do while I've got her heart open. Other than going ahead and replacing both seals and gaskets.

How do you move a thread. This topic should have been in banshee repairs and mods.

Only mods can move a thread.

 

Nobody ever listens to me on this but drill a 3/8" hole just towards the rear of where the current oil return hole is on the clutch side. If you notice the current hole goes right into the drain plug and seriously limits flow. In addition to that...new billet impeller, new clutch/springs, etc etc...

Drop a new stroker crank in there.

wallrat, when you say better flow are we talking about coolant or crank oil flowing better

Another way to do that is cut your drain plug almost in half so it doestn block the oil passage going over to the clutch! Or we sell a shorter magnetic drain plug that works real good too! True and weld crank for sure and maybe a shift shaft mod and easy spring for butter like shifts.

Could you enlighten me as to what a TZ bearing is? I don't think I have ever heard of that before. Thanks.

TZ bearing is a roller bearing for the outer right side of crank. Gets it's name from the old TZ350 bikes which had a beefier crank in terms of bearings. The TZ bearing is a 10 ball bearing v/s the standard 8 ball on the banshee. This gives it more contact area which increases side and vertical load capabilities and extends it's operating life. Most generally this will be the first bearing to grenade and a weak point of banshee cranks. This is especailly a must on heavily modded shee's as the stress to that bearing is increased. It's really cjheap insurance and takes little time to replace with the cases split.

Shift Star Mod fo shizzle. You could also mod your sidecase so you can adjust your clutch without taking the cover off. I did that. Not hard to do at all and saves you some gaskets & trouble if you only need to adjust your clutch.

Thanks for the explanation. Very well said. That makes perfect sense. When it comes time to tear mine apart I will be using the TZ bearing. More balls is always better, that's why I own a Banshee!
