Shawn G Posted February 15, 2006 Report Posted February 15, 2006 Hello everyone. I'm new to the site, and from what I've seen, I think it's awesome! These forums are so informative, I only wish I would have found it a long time ago. My question is...When I go to sync the carbs, I should make the adjustment at the front of the TORS box (left carb), so that the slide indicators appear in the viewing windows at the same time, right?? I ask this because while reading some other posts, readers suggested using the the idle screw on the back of the TORS box, which I thought was strictly for idle adjustment. Also, if I've synced the carbs using the indicators (which is the full throttle position), will this necessarily mean that the slides are opening equally from zero throttle on up. If not, could it be that my throttle cable is just too stretched out and I should pick up a new one. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks. Quote
Animalman294 Posted April 22, 2008 Report Posted April 22, 2008 Ya, might get a carb sync tool from Jeff at FAST, I use one and it takes all the guess work out of it.................. Quote

Sorry guys, couldn't resist. LMAO! , but just incase anyone needs to know, The synch is ajusted using the cables, so that the dots come up into the little windows at exactly the same time. The big thumb screws on the tors are to adjust the idle, and both have to be adjusted the same. Turn them all the way down, while watching the slides. Make sure they both bottom out, and tap the trottle slightly, watching carefully. both slides should start to move at the SAME TIME, if not, adjust one of the other up or down, until you get both to move at the same time. Then turn both up the SAME number of turns, usually 2-4, and start the motor and adjust same amounts until it idles properly. If the engine ignition kills when you let completely off the throttle lever, either the idle is too high, or the cable needs some adjustment at the throttle housing. Quote
