ghostryder420 Posted February 10, 2006 Report Posted February 10, 2006 whos is running these pipes or has run them?? i know they're a mid range pipe but how is the top end? how are they when wide open in the fields or fast trails? Quote
bigboybanshee Posted February 10, 2006 Report Posted February 10, 2006 Top end is better than stock but not real strong like other pipes out there. If you're wanting more top end and don't want to sacrifice the low/mid, get the PT high revs. I ran the PT mids for about 6 months Quote
Banchetta Posted February 12, 2006 Report Posted February 12, 2006 Top end is a lot better than stock, like said before, not as peaky as others.....I've ran them for 5 years and loved them....Extremely smooth, predicatable power, instant throttle response. I'm running them now w/ a 4mil stroker and trying other pipes to compare how they do on the strokers...as for stock porting, I would take them over any other pipe for all around riding. For fast wide open areas, you can gain more w/ other high revs..My top end on my stock jugs was 88mph w/ a 16/42 gearing...the midrange pipes can pull a taller gear and still have more bottom end pull while still holding a respectable top end. Its like ridng a 250R, but w/ power. Quote
FOXBANSHEE30 Posted February 14, 2006 Report Posted February 14, 2006 I have the PT Mid's and i love them they have awesome mid and the top end is still rediculous. I went to a 13 tooth, but im gonna have to go back to the 14 cuz it just does a lot of spinnin on the bottom end. I love these pipes all the way through. PEACE. Quote
WAKEBOARDDAVE1 Posted February 17, 2006 Report Posted February 17, 2006 my good friend has them and I walk away from him with my cpi's', so much that he is going to get a set of CPI's. They cost 550.00 compared to 700.00 or more for PT's. Quote
decon Posted February 17, 2006 Report Posted February 17, 2006 ^thats because they weren't made for drag...does your friend have the same setup as you? Quote
shanYE west Posted February 17, 2006 Report Posted February 17, 2006 I've had both pipes PT Mid and PT Hi-Rev The mid is a good pipe for trails and mx and the Hi-rev gives a litte up on bottom for a realy strong mid hit with great top end. So its kinda a trail/drag pipe but its still not as good on top end as a drag pipe like CPI or shearer, but is a good comprimise if your looking to do some fast trail riding and some drag racing. I like them cuz I never burn my leg. went through alot of pants with my toomey's Quote
2006 banshee Posted February 18, 2006 Report Posted February 18, 2006 i had the pt high revs on my 02 and i plan on getting another set fot my 06 Quote
Banchetta Posted February 25, 2006 Report Posted February 25, 2006 I've tried the Pt high revs and mids on my 4 mil stroker w/ no real differences, I just tried a set of shearers this past week in Glamis...The shearers gave me a broader power at a higher rpms....low end wasn't as great, but mid to top broadened alot and pulled a lot harder w/ a really smooth power delivery....So w/ my experience, the Pt's are great for stock stroke, but I feel they hold back the strokers...JKJK also has a 4mil and feels the same.....Both of our shees are ported for low end and mx.. Shee-Male Posted February 25, 2006 Report Posted February 25, 2006 Have only had experiance with the hi-revs and I found them to roll on very smooth and have excellent power delivery! Quote
