400ccStroker_shee Posted July 26, 2006 Report Posted July 26, 2006 What does your join date have to do with any thing.......? .............your still new If you dont know any thing about where motocross and desert racing began.......(Roger Decoster Ricky Johnson, Ron Lachien, Jeff Ward)ill go on........and as far as planet sand............I was shi**ing grean squirts out my A$$ before any of that was ever around.................so when you want to talk about Alba..just remember who builds his bikes and where he came from...........and his bikes win!!!!!!!!.......You should come to San Diego (When you and your family visit the Zoo)....and take a look at his enormous facility..........he has a lot of technology under his roof!!!! Those of you that say Alba sux.......is because they prolly got over on you..........and you let it happen!!! My buddy and I have alba 400 cc stroker kits, but we put them together and they rip! Nothing imperticular is alba's except they did the boring and porting. Alba is really helpful, check there web site out, just google alba 400cc stroker kit! Quote
DRI4life Posted July 26, 2006 Report Posted July 26, 2006 awsome thread :yelrotflmao: well this is my take on alba.. i too live in the same town as alba (poway) and purchased a couple of banshees from them. been there a million times and know almost everyone there.. first off, alba bought out a local shop.. i forget the original name but they were next to other reputible shops.. anyways one of the guys came from the old shop to work at alba and work the machines.. so someone from there knows what there doing.. i just go there to buy other parts at discount.. i could go on all day about alba.. what it comes down to is just find a builder thats in your area.. if not then you better know what your getting yourself into.. iv been blessed to have duncan racing right down the street. but i would ship it to china if they were over there.. iv been through alot of builders and companies, and can say duncans quality, customer service and advice are top of the business.. hands down, the best motor iv been on.... and like my name says as for trinity.. well after a $5500 cheetah motor you would expect them to atleast tell you that the carbs are not jetted and that black shit spits out the PVs.. didnt even get a break in sheet and had to bring the whole bike in to them.. im sure others have had good experiences with them but they seem to lack customer care.. but the motor is insane and runs strong.. no problems yet Quote
Bansh-eman Posted July 28, 2006 Report Posted July 28, 2006 i also have got the 400 strocker from alba... now as far as them working on my bike i didnt have that i rebuilt it my self... its pretty ez.. but it dosent matter where you get your parts from when your doing it your self so i wasnt worried what ppl said about them really casue they werent working on my motor and they give military discount so i was all about it... a hotrod crank is a hotrod crank no matter who you get it from just make sure you have a reputable building doing your motor if you dont plan on doing it your self... RATBIKE0130 Posted July 28, 2006 Report Posted July 28, 2006 awsome thread :yelrotflmao: well this is my take on alba.. i too live in the same town as alba (poway) and purchased a couple of banshees from them. been there a million times and know almost everyone there.. first off, alba bought out a local shop.. i forget the original name but they were next to other reputible shops.. anyways one of the guys came from the old shop to work at alba and work the machines.. so someone from there knows what there doing.. i just go there to buy other parts at discount.. i could go on all day about alba.. Ok if anyone wants the real truth this is it. I like DRI live close to Alba and know just about everyone there. The was a shop across from Duncan Racing... Samcoe (ring a bell DRI?). Samcoe decided to quit running his own business and sold off his machines to Alba. In the process Alba offered Sam a position doing the same thing he was doing at his own business but without the hassles or phones, paperwork, and the other misc. shit that owning a business entails. Anyway Sam took the job and does all the Banshee cylinders that run through Alba. He does have something like 20 years of experience and has built a ton of bike that ran Baja 1k. Now for the names like Cory Ellis and Tracy and Wayne. Yes they are riding Alba bikes. Yes they are done by employees of Alba. No you won't get a motor built by the same guys doing the pro motors. Just like every race time out there, each team has a mechanic and that mechanic sticks to working on the few bikes he is in charge of. Does this mean your motor done by Alba will suck... NO. You have to balance out power with reliability. A race motor is probably going to have all the internals replaced after every event. Your play motor isn't going to make the same power but it will last longer. Hope this clears some of the drama up... no need to kill the messenger... I'm just telling it like it is. Quote
DRI4life Posted July 28, 2006 Report Posted July 28, 2006 Ok if anyone wants the real truth this is it. I like DRI live close to Alba and know just about everyone there. are you calling me a liar?? i like alba and have given them thousands of dollars.. samcoe is right, i couldnt remember and didnt want to give false info.. and yes right across from duncan..... im not knocking alba at all i... i just work on all my own bikes.. mark has been my parts guy for years.. and i wouldnt say dont buy the 400 kit.. alba is very experienced with banshees.. they have every f-ing billet part in stock lol........ RATBIKE0130 Posted July 29, 2006 Report Posted July 29, 2006 Nope not calling you a lier at all... just informing the others out there that don't believe that Alba is capable of good work. If they didn't I wouldn't have spent probably close to 20K there. I go way back when Alba was just a hole in the wall shop that took over a car dealership building close to the end of Poway RD. Quote
DRI4life Posted July 29, 2006 Report Posted July 29, 2006 yea i remember way back it used to be balboa cars or something and the sign was fucked up and only said alba so thats what he called his store... kinda random info... remember "wet n dirty".. accross the street.. gonna be SKG now.. lol are you from poway or east county Quote
lonestar Posted July 30, 2006 Report Posted July 30, 2006 (edited) Duncan racing & Trinity both 2 stroke & 4 stroke dominate mx stadium, tt racing at loretta lynn's they both have won several national championships. Yes trinity's bike came in pikes peak hill climb, & yes their customer service sucks. But i also heard they have gotten better. I have two motors done buy them. My first motor 350 stock stroke stage 2 rated at 70h.p. It was done back in 97 when Harry & Kim were doing the porting. Glenn was the service manager. Harry did my cylinders himself. This motor halls ass. My first top end job on these cylinders had to be done. So i stayed away from trinity because everbody said on the internet don't go to trinity. So i sent the cylinders to LRD got a report back on the port job they did said they could not have done any better. My 2 motor is a 535 cheetah tunnel ported done buy trinity the porting on the cheetahs are done buy CAD CNC machine. jeff at fastoys has this motor in his shop now ask jeff what's he thinks about trinity port work. If i was going to build another motor with stock cylinders and send them to trinity yes i would only if kim or harry do the porting. One more thing I forgot to add. The banshee called the Legend over at Glamis is built buy trinity that took Oldsmobile hill back 2003 Edited July 31, 2006 by lonestar Quote
