THEREALBUDLIGHTBANSHEE Posted December 1, 2005 Report Posted December 1, 2005 Put my 28mm Keihein carbs on and went to put my K&N pod filters on and they wont fit, even tried heating them up no luck,is there some kind of adapter i can buy ,or any ideas .thanks Quote
Quadracer18 Posted December 1, 2005 Report Posted December 1, 2005 looks like your screwd! who needs airfilters anyhow... less weight without em J/K... try to grind out some of the inside of the rubber, or use a razor knife, be sure its smooth so you have no airleaks however. I think they make adapters for them if you have no luck, try running a search on google and find where you can get them, sorry i couldnt be more help Quote

Thats the best i can think of, i had a HELL of a time getting my 28's into the stock airbox boots. I didnt think of shaving them, it took me a couple hours and lots of cursing but i got them in!! cb67rs1 Posted December 1, 2005 Report Posted December 1, 2005 just buy the filters to fit your carbs, why reduce you intake with an adapter. you will just reduce the air intake . just buy a larger filter thats made for your carb. Quote
Z28ROC Posted December 1, 2005 Report Posted December 1, 2005 That sucks, I guess you'll just have to give the PWKs to me. I'd try a dremel or die grinder like the other guys said. You might only have to bevel the edge of the boot on the filter enough to get it started. Then you should be able to push it on. Quote
THEREALBUDLIGHTBANSHEE Posted December 1, 2005 Author Report Posted December 1, 2005 there on!!! removed alittle material and presto*time to take it out and rip it for the first time! Quote

I ended up with lots of bloody knuckles but it eventually worked. If I were to do it again I would shave them. Quote
odaen Posted December 1, 2005 Report Posted December 1, 2005 I sat mine out in the sun for a good 30 mins, sprayed some wd40 on them, and they went on without too much trouble. It was still tight, but I've been there before Quote
