Actually...why would you need a second filter?  I mean, if the airbox is sealed, and the lid is a K&N filter, why do you need a second filter?

They're talking about a whole new lid that K&N makes, thats a filter. So as long as you plug up the drain hole in the bottom of the airbox, it would be sealed, and you would be fine without a filter (as long as it has or can use a rubber seal to really seal the lid).

would you do it though? theres always a chance shit can get into your carbs if theyre not filtered directly. i think its just too risky

Hell no I wouldn't do it :D I think it would work, but I also think its stupid. Plus Ive never been a big fan of K&N. The fine clay dust around here goes right through them. Nothing but foam for me.
