macgillivary Posted October 16, 2005 Report Posted October 16, 2005 (edited) actually it doesnt shake it violently shakes, like makes you not wanna run it that fast cuz its hard on your body, the harder the surface the more harsh it seems, pavement seems to be the worst something is bent for sure but it has been doin it for a couple years actually i noticed it after the first winter i bought it, i didnt bother cuz its only at high speeds and not that often i get a chance to open her up, at first i thought it was a flat spot in a tire from goin flat and sitting over winter, nope cuz i changed em and its still doin it, thought it mita been a rim, nope cuz i changed them so thought it might be an axle, nope changed that and wasnt it, bent swinger nope changed that, the only thing left is the hub, think possibly my shaking is from bent hub studs or a bent hub somehow? im glad i wanted all these parts instead of spendin all that money to fix it cuz if i spent that much on trying to fix a high speed shake id be pissed, anybody else have a problem like this before? thanks P.S. its definatly feels and looks like its in the back of the bike cuz you watch the tires shaking when your wide open Edited October 16, 2005 by macgillivary Quote
road racer Posted October 16, 2005 Report Posted October 16, 2005 Hi; Mine did the same thing and it was the rear axle slightly out of wack. Block it up and run it and watch your rear wheels. Likely you will see they wobble causing your shake. Quote
rocketboy Posted October 16, 2005 Report Posted October 16, 2005 (edited) yep a bent axle i bet or loose castle nuts whic him sure yo ualready checked Edited October 16, 2005 by rocketboy Quote
Redlined Posted October 16, 2005 Report Posted October 16, 2005 (edited) Another thing to try would be; have you tires balanced. This is not something we would normally do to a dirt bike. But, if you are running at high speeds, it is something to consider. Just like you car/truck tire, when they are out of balance, they will shake violently at higher RPM. 8675309 Posted October 16, 2005 Report Posted October 16, 2005 you didnt put a lot of tire sealer in them did you? Quote
locogato11283 Posted October 16, 2005 Report Posted October 16, 2005 it can only be a few things... 1. bent axle 2. bent or warped wheel 3. hub possibly bent 4. front hub bearings may be bad 5. axle bearing may be bad 6. wheels and tires out of balance those are the only things it could be... Quote
macgillivary Posted October 16, 2005 Author Report Posted October 16, 2005 ok well im in the middle of midterms so i dont have time to go mess with it right away but i know that ya the tire shop didnt use enought sealer cuz my back right tire goes flat over a day or 2 it shouldnt be a bent axle cuz when i replaced it with a brand new axle it was still happening the axle bearings are new i replaced them this year castle nuts? those the ones on your hubs? ya there tight im gonna guess its just the wheels out of balance hopefully ill block it up later on tonight maybe and see what i see Quote
Hulio-mv Posted October 17, 2005 Report Posted October 17, 2005 bust your tire down the one that goes flat and check for slime that stuff will make it shake at speed or when going over a good jump Quote
Hulio-mv Posted October 17, 2005 Report Posted October 17, 2005 bust your tire down the one that goes flat and check for slime that stuff will make it shake at speed or when going over a good jump or put the rear on a rack and start it put it in gear and watch the axle ends and beads Quote

macgillivary Posted November 5, 2005 Author Report Posted November 5, 2005 (edited) opps i solved this a while ago and forgot to reply axle is tweaked a bit on the left side :@ orrrrrrr the bearing does have a bit of slop in it but i dont think it is that, its not enough to make me buy a new axle though, i dont run wide open very often, just annoying Edited November 5, 2005 by macgillivary Quote
