Blackmon Posted September 26, 2005 Report Posted September 26, 2005 I am looking into getting drag pipes w/ mufflers and a port job over the winter..I haven't seen too many drag pipes with mufflers..but trinity seems to have the cheapest that I have found..are they decent and how do they compare to the others..and as for the port work..who does a good job and how much is it for a good drag port? Also I have read a few posts on the cheetah cylinders..I might be interested in getting those with a port job if I can afford it..Any suggestions are welcome..thanks in advance Quote
23champ Posted September 26, 2005 Report Posted September 26, 2005 Get the cubs. Good power for a decent price, and still reliable. Quote
Blackmon Posted September 27, 2005 Author Report Posted September 27, 2005 yes reliablity is definately another factor..i just have rebuilt my shee for the first time about a year ago and everything still looked really nice:) I was actually suprised because I had heard that 2 strokes usually had to be rebuilt more often and it had been 3 years of drag racing twice a week Quote
bigboybanshee Posted September 27, 2005 Report Posted September 27, 2005 A couple of good engine builders to call would be... Andy at Grand River Racing (Banner ad is at the top of the page) Jeff at FAST Racing (screen name is FASTOYS) I got my cylinders ported by Andy @ GRR, VERY happy with the quality of his work, his drag port rips! I noticed you said you wanted drag pipes with silencers, you could always check into Andy's new inframe drag pipe Jeff at FAST is simply a great guy to deal with...He can do portwork also, AND can get you setup with a cub if you want it. He's always around when you need him and more than willing to give you advice if you need it! Quote

rocketboy Posted October 2, 2005 Report Posted October 2, 2005 (edited) i guess Matt shearer is a liar when he said to me its basically just his off the shelf production banshee inframe with their name stamped on it and yes alot of peeps on here and planet sand like rdz racing ,but dollar for dollar ,there just not gonna make the power a cub makes especially for their prices Edited October 2, 2005 by rocketboy Quote
blueshee03 Posted October 2, 2005 Report Posted October 2, 2005 in my oppinion i'd forget trinity, they don't do the quality they used to since they got a name.if you want awsome results and satisfaction try jim at passion racing.i doubt if you can find a better guy to talk to and deal with whether it's just questions or a full all out drag motor with pipes. bkabina Posted October 2, 2005 Report Posted October 2, 2005 Passion racing is the best price I found for Shearer's.$450. chrome outta frames.I would also recomend him for a port job.If you are looking for Cubs he can hook you up on those as well.I'm sure can match or beat just about anybody's price.
