BURKE_DADDY Posted September 24, 2005 Report Posted September 24, 2005 hello, i am about to get the banshee up and running today.Ive went with a 2 into 1 carb setup and will be using 1 of the 2 mikuni 34mm flat slide carbs that originally came with my banshee.my problem is i know one of the 2 nipples on the carb had a rubber tube connected to the other carb but now that i don't have 2 carbs do i just plug it off?and theres another nipple on the opposite side of the carb, i don't think anything was hooked up to it.should i plug off that nipple or what do i do with them.also theres a gold maybe brass nipple on the bottom of the bowl.do i just leave it alone or what should i do?and what do these nipples do?i can blow air through all 3. thank you Quote
locogato11283 Posted September 24, 2005 Report Posted September 24, 2005 they are either vents or overflows...just put a little hose on them and run them down the back of ur motor... or....what i like to do to nipples is milk them Quote
Cotton eyed Joe Posted September 24, 2005 Report Posted September 24, 2005 or....what i like to do to nipples is milk them 418725[/snapback] First thing I thought of when I saw the title of the thread was "pinch them". Maybe put clothes pins on them. Or alligator clips. And then smack them off with a belt. Quote

aschultz91 Posted September 24, 2005 Report Posted September 24, 2005 thats the choke hose that goes from the choke carb to the carb without a choke... idk what to do with the hole block it off i would guess Quote
2003LimitedBanshee Posted September 24, 2005 Report Posted September 24, 2005 I don't know much about the 34mm Mikunis, but if they are anything like the stockers, the first two "nipples" do sound like choke crossovers. If that's the case and you don't block those off you will have a pretty big air leak going straight in. I'm assuming the carb you have mounted has some sort of choke pull, or do the 34mm not have that, just wondering if maybe you actually want the other carb installed on the bike if it has the choke pull, otherwise you wouldn't have any choke. The third nipple on the bowl is an overflow, route it out the back, the stock ones dump in between the case and the swinger. Quote
BURKE_DADDY Posted September 24, 2005 Author Report Posted September 24, 2005 thanks for the replys, both of the carbs have chokes on them.so do i just put tubes on them or block them off? i would think to block them off to be on the safe side and not risk an air leak and cause a lean condtion?but i have no clue.i looked on the mikuni website but didnt have any luck there. thank you for your help Quote
iceman Posted September 24, 2005 Report Posted September 24, 2005 why go with 1 34mm when you could have 2? seems wierd to me. Quote
J-Madd Posted September 24, 2005 Report Posted September 24, 2005 Just block them off. I just put some 35 mms on mine. One came blocked off, the other has some tubes on them. I blocked both of them off per Jeff at F.A.S.T. Quote

rebelbanshee2 Posted September 24, 2005 Report Posted September 24, 2005 Id put hoses on them , they are needed to vent the carbs Quote
aschultz91 Posted September 24, 2005 Report Posted September 24, 2005 well if they both have chokes i guess they arent choke crossovers. so run a piece of tube down by the other overflow hoses. Quote
ReDEyE Posted September 25, 2005 Report Posted September 25, 2005 do bigger carbs make a huge difference over stock? Which is a better setup for trails, a 2 into 1 or 2 bigger carbs like 34-35? Just to give you a quick setup of my banshee i have t5s, noss head with 21" domes, +4 advanced timing, v-force3 reeds, pro flow and k&n filter and i just ordered a nology coil and wires today I was just thinking of what my next mod should be. I only got my banshee a few months ago and I cant stop doing mods to it. Im addicted! Quote
rebelbanshee2 Posted September 25, 2005 Report Posted September 25, 2005 other than a 2 into 1, stock carbs work best on stock port engines, any bigger and you will lose low end and maybe even top end Quote
