crbanshee Posted September 20, 2005 Report Posted September 20, 2005 Has anyone tried running a 14/43 sprocket setup? (Considering using it for D38 races and dunes) Quote
locogato11283 Posted September 20, 2005 Report Posted September 20, 2005 thats gonna be a little lower than stock...what gearing u run now? Quote
98bonerSTOCKshee Posted September 20, 2005 Report Posted September 20, 2005 I was running 12/45 low as hell, it's great for the slow trail rides when the kids are with me, not near as much clutching, When drag racing I take off in 3rd (never hang 2nd this way) with paddles in the sand and grab 6th right around 300' I think.. Lost all top end, but hell who actually ever top out the shee in 6th with the taller gear? Just got new chain and sprocket I am gonna go with 13/44 this time.. I needs alittle more on top.. Quote
BdBanshee Posted September 21, 2005 Report Posted September 21, 2005 I think that's what I'm running now. It really depends on many factors, I change my gearing every year or two when I get different tires. My Banshee came with 13/42 so 14/43 is higher than stock for me. I've got a new 15 to try next time I buy a new chain. Quote
crbanshee Posted September 21, 2005 Author Report Posted September 21, 2005 thats gonna be a little lower than stock...what gearing u run now? 417100[/snapback] I am running stock 14/41 gearing. I have heard that this gearing gives a little more bottom end without robbing all the top speed?? Quote
switchblade Posted September 21, 2005 Report Posted September 21, 2005 I'm running a 16/42 but I wouldn't recomend it unless you have the motor to pull that tall of gearing. Quote
Thoughtshewas18 Posted September 23, 2005 Report Posted September 23, 2005 Well I have a stock setup with pipes , K&N filters, vforce reeds I hate shifting so quickly what would you guys suggest? Even a little bit would be nice. Quote
Machwon Posted September 25, 2005 Report Posted September 25, 2005 I've run the 14/43 before and loved it with 22" paddles. Worked great for me, but only with the bigger tires. When you get more motor then just throw a 15 tooth on. Quote
