itsaripper Posted September 19, 2005 Report Posted September 19, 2005 Your going to need new two bearings and two new seals. The yamaha part number for seals Right side: 93102-43341 Left side : 93106-42026 These seals are only one mm apart on the inside width so I have used two of eather one I couldn't find the yamaha part number, but I think they were in the $20 dollar range. I went to a bearing house and got some and the price was about the same. The brand was RBI, number was 6007-2RS. The brand yamaha had was NSK no. 6007VVC3 If you have your axel off go ahead and take the bolt out where the swingarm hooks to the frame. Grease the bearings and neverseeze the bolt so it won't ever get stuck inside the pipe that it goes through. Some people take the inside seal out of the bearings and put a grease zert in the carrier and fill it with grease. Then give it a couple of pumps every ride or two. Quote
brock_fuzzy_69 Posted September 19, 2005 Report Posted September 19, 2005 i think it was ben BB who once listed par numbers and sizes for the seals and bearings as well might check with him for sure i def would recomemnd decent quality bearings as the china imports are junk quality and put a grease zerk in that carrier so you can lube em up many guys pull the small seals off of the bearings or run a non sealed bearing so that they can apply grease to them Quote
baddboyy21 Posted September 19, 2005 Report Posted September 19, 2005 My bearings are shot too. The ball bearings broke out of the bearing and are lodged. I am having a hell of a time trying to get the axle out. Any suggestions? Quote
quad4me Posted September 19, 2005 Report Posted September 19, 2005 I am in the process of this as well......the spacer came out stuck to the axle. Anyone have that problem? The Clymers tells you what to do with this huge puller...but who has that shit? Any hints to get that spacer off? Quote
Banshee~ Posted September 19, 2005 Report Posted September 19, 2005 I wouldent buy stock bearings and seals, get pivotworks from RockyMountainATV. Im replacing mine as we speak, Ive just got to pull the axle out the other side and replace the bearings and seals. I just took the front sproket off because I couldent get the chain apart. Here is a site that tells you how to replace them if you dont have a clymers maunal http://www.bluetraxx.com/axle_bearing_install_1_new.htm Quote
baddboyy21 Posted September 19, 2005 Report Posted September 19, 2005 I just got my axle out and the spacer was stuck on the alxe also. I used a 3 inch air cutoff wheel and cut it off. The spacer is $10...so don't waste time trying to get it off. Quote
quad4me Posted September 19, 2005 Report Posted September 19, 2005 (edited) Ironically...I just went out there determined to get it apart....grabbed that mofo with a thick rag...and pulled it off...it was just stuck a little. Felt like a idiot for a few minutes...till i realized that I just saved a shitload of time and effort. But this axle was nothing less than a BIATCH to get apart....but I got a good deal on it! FOXBANSHEE30 Posted September 20, 2005 Report Posted September 20, 2005 i just replaced mine all the way around. But i used ALL BALLS brand. (Liked the name...) Well ive had them in there a while and they are working fine of course. As long as they arent stock u should be ok. I didnt put a grease zerk in mine b/c the only thing that will great is the spacer up against the carrier, which the spacer fits so loosely in there it doesent really touch.
