fah_Q Posted August 4, 2005 Report Posted August 4, 2005 Welp, I finaly bent one of my upper a-arms. What do you guys sugest. Shoule i simlpy replace it with another stock one off of ebay, or should I upgrade to a newer and stronger set. I only ride my banshee in the oregon dunes. Looking for a cheep but quality fix. Quote
Rooster Posted August 4, 2005 Report Posted August 4, 2005 I've been ridin' my Banshee at Glamis for about 14 years and have only bent my J arm twice. Once was a slow roll-over after loosing a wheelie and the second time was a dreaded "witches eye", both times I've replaced with used stockers and have had good luck. I personally prefer to spend my money on go fast parts rather than stuff like that. The last one only cost me $20.00! Rooster Quote
vdubn Posted August 4, 2005 Report Posted August 4, 2005 Sorry if its a noobie question, but what is a "witches eye"? Quote

racer Posted August 4, 2005 Report Posted August 4, 2005 Sorry if its a noobie question, but what is a "witches eye"? 401100[/snapback] im under the impression that its one of those sinkhole looking things in the middle of the dunes. im not sure how they get there but my bud broke his arm from one of those things. vdubn Posted August 4, 2005 Report Posted August 4, 2005 Out here we call those razorbacks, where the wind has sucked the back side out of a section of the sand, it looks straight and flat, but drops like 5 feet... can be pretty freaky when you're haulin'! Quote

VinceDizzy Posted August 4, 2005 Report Posted August 4, 2005 (edited) We call razorbacks a dune that comes up then goes down at about a 45 degree angle. Going straight over it will get you stuck and high centered A "witches eye" is yeah, a sink hole kind of. The terrain will look flat then a sudden drop then a sudden incline from the wind whippin around a hole. Kid ofthe shape of an eye socket. With no eye Basically a hole ya dont want to get stuck in. Anyway! I like the stockers on eBay. I dont like the wider front end of aftermarket A-Arms Wont fit in the back of the truck! Edited August 4, 2005 by VinceDizzy Quote
crbanshee Posted August 5, 2005 Report Posted August 5, 2005 wiches eye...its usualy at the bottom of a dune or just past the bottom and its a big ass steep but shallow pit..imagen a big V shaped hole...most of the time it has the shape of an eye..how it comes into a point at one end and the other end is more oval..like if you draw an eye on paper and the center where the eye ball should be its a gigantig V shaped hole..i guess the easiest way to describre it is as an eye shaped cone..they jump out and grab you when you arent looking and they never ever feel good when you hit them Quote
RNBRAD Posted August 5, 2005 Report Posted August 5, 2005 Looking for a cheep but quality fix. Stock replacment is the cheapest, of course. Aftermarkets will (most) have better quality. Find a price that suits you and buy an aftermarket set. A lot of people like the quicksand. I use the Janssens and would buy them again tomorrow, no question about it. They offer a lifetime warranty which is a plus. Quote
Big Blue Posted August 5, 2005 Report Posted August 5, 2005 I have quicksands and really like them. Quote
