I just sold my 96 kawi ninja and had to get another toy . Alright, say you have $1500, what would you do? I am already planing on powdercoating the frame black, and getting black plastics. What engine mods would be the best for the money? Quote
flanders Posted May 15, 2005 Report Posted May 15, 2005 (edited) what kind of riding are you wanting to do? for $1500, you should get: toomey t-5's or rockets (around $600) mild port job (around $350) noss cool head ($250) K&N filter pods (i think theyre around $70 for both) v-force reeds ($250) edit - you could also probably pick up a pair of used pipes for much much cheaper, and use that money for powder coating the frame or you could use it to get some 28mm carbs for like $300. also, the first thing i would change is the thumb throttle to a twist. Banshee17Racing Posted May 15, 2005 Report Posted May 15, 2005 well, it looks like you've already got some type of Toomey's, flanders list sounds pretty good, i'd really look into welding your cranks with 19cc. By the way, you should be over 150 psi w/19's, i've got 21's and i'm at 155 psi.(700 ft. elevation) Quote

decon Posted May 15, 2005 Report Posted May 15, 2005 nice deal. by the look of those silencers, they are some old toomeys. u mind posting more pics of them (i.e. side, back angle) ? and for 1500 u can get alot. i would get some new pipes, dune port, nosshead, carbs, pro flow air filter. maybe you could even fit some suspension in with that money if u find some good deals. as for pipes their are alot of good pipes for the dunes. rockets, toomeys, shearers, cpi's, etc, just depends on what type of power curve u want. also, i would worry about the engine first before the looks. sheecandy Posted May 15, 2005 Report Posted May 15, 2005 first i would redo the bottom end new crank and seals if you have a shop do the work ask about a package deal rebuilding your bottom end and some dune porting while you got your motor out have your frame powdercoated if your pipes are in good shape i would just clean them up and repaint them make sure you rejet for all your new mods oh yea dont forget some skat trak paddles on douglas blue lables have fun Quote
