JArmShee Posted May 8, 2005 Report Posted May 8, 2005 After some hard riding Today My bike died It didnt smoke or Break it just turned off. on me then i couldnt kick it over. it seemed like i blew a rod or somethin because the kick start was stuck so i put in neutral and put it back ont he truck . when I got home I took off the head and the pistons seam to be fine. Also the rotating assembly spins fine now with the kick start and it seems like everything is fine. Before I put the head back on is there something I should be checking for, that could have made the bike die. and then not be able to kick over? Thanks Anthony Quote
. Posted May 9, 2005 Report Posted May 9, 2005 PULL your pipes and intake and take a look in at the pistons from the side.....You may have caught a ring. On the top of my piston all there was was a little chip missing and pulled the jugs and it wasnt pretty Quote
JArmShee Posted May 9, 2005 Author Report Posted May 9, 2005 well if the ring caught then it wouldnt turn even when the head was off right. Now that I took the head off nothing seems to be wrong. it spins and seems like its making seal when it passes the ports. could it have overheated? Quote
. Posted May 9, 2005 Report Posted May 9, 2005 mine caught a ring as I was heading back to camp down at Hatfield-McCoy. If I kept my rpm up it would actually fire on that side cause it was building enough compression. As soon as I let off it wouldnt fire, and backfire n just run like crap. It's something to look into and would just take a couple minutes to do. They usually catch on the exhaust port, so pulling your pipes and standing it up and lookin in the exhaust you'd be able to see the piston. Doing a compression test would have also helped if the head was on. I'd just look to make sure before I went throwing a head and gasket back on Quote
JArmShee Posted May 19, 2005 Author Report Posted May 19, 2005 Well I inspected the walls and everything seems to be "A" ok. I got all new Orings and Im going to reassemble today. I also got a larger Main jet So hopefully this wont happen again. Quote
BANJO Posted May 21, 2005 Report Posted May 21, 2005 the same thing happen to me man... but my kick start is still like cement..lol.. im just getting new topend kit and 2into1 crab and it will be good to go again. peace devin. Quote
JArmShee Posted May 23, 2005 Author Report Posted May 23, 2005 Do you have spark? 371325[/snapback] Well I put it back together yest. and now I dont have spark. I tried new plugs and still nothing. What could this be? Quote
JArmShee Posted May 25, 2005 Author Report Posted May 25, 2005 well after some hard riding the motor just died. when i went to kick it back over, the kick starter was stuck and it seemed like the engine was seized. I went home and removed the Head and now everything is spinning freely with no signs of wear or problems on the cylinder walls. I put new orings on and put the head back on. Now I can kick it over again but it woudnt start. I checked for spark and there is none. So if it died because my spark was gone what made it seem like it was seized. Please help I want to get this straightened out b4 this weekend. Thanks Anthony Quote
JArmShee Posted May 27, 2005 Author Report Posted May 27, 2005 yea still no spark hellp appreciated Quote
suzuki0702 Posted May 27, 2005 Report Posted May 27, 2005 when i bout my shee..well traded it for the 01 warrior it had no spark. i bout a new cdi, stator, and coil..and still nothing fixed it..unplugged the kill switch and the think sparked bright as day..check the wiring diagram in the clymer manula. wayfst Posted May 28, 2005 Report Posted May 28, 2005 how about this, cdi timing slips just before it goes out, the timing slips causes the cylinder temp to skyrocket and seizes the piston. now no spark. ?? just a theory. let us know. Quote
