Otis Posted April 20, 2005 Report Posted April 20, 2005 Hey what order do the nuts come off??...starting with what nut(if ya give me a number, tell me where it is on the head, and in what direction should should i start to loosen? (not lefty loosey...i got that already... ,) Any picture pointing to the starting nut would help... It's a NOSS head, if that makes a diff... thanks Quote
brock_fuzzy_69 Posted April 20, 2005 Report Posted April 20, 2005 reverse order of install start at 10 and work your way down just break them loose and after they are all loose then take them off thats what my idea of the safe way would be Quote
Otis Posted April 20, 2005 Author Report Posted April 20, 2005 reverse order of install start at 10 and work your way down Yeah thats the problem...where's number 10??...and then what direction?? Quote
dlnoss Posted April 20, 2005 Report Posted April 20, 2005 When removing the head, it's not real important. The numbers are on the stock head if you still have it. Work from the outside in when loosening and inside out when tightening. Quote
Otis Posted April 20, 2005 Author Report Posted April 20, 2005 there we go....David, faded , thanks guys... much appreciated. Quote
locogato11283 Posted April 20, 2005 Report Posted April 20, 2005 what makes a fuckin difference?? honestly, i have NEVER tightened them down in any order or even torqued them for that matter. never had any kind of problems. in fact, the one time i did torque the head nuts down the son of a bitch leaked all the way around. so i did a "loco torque job" on them and it never leaked again. MonkeyBoy Posted April 20, 2005 Report Posted April 20, 2005 I always do them in alphabetical order. I'm just a neat freak like that... But really, loosening doesn't make a difference, just tightening. If you are going to start digging in to the motor, buy a manual, it gives you all the torque specs and orders. Quote
1sreamin350 Posted April 21, 2005 Report Posted April 21, 2005 as long as you tighten one bolt hand tight it should be good. Quote
05bansh Posted April 21, 2005 Report Posted April 21, 2005 I just duct taped my noss head on.......................... Quote
