ok on mountain bikes with hydrolic brakes if you take the rotor out of the calipers and somehow manage to hit that brake which you took the rotor out of it will get air in the line and then that pushes your pads out. maybe when you changed em the first time you hit the brakes or something. i figured it would be the same for quads?

The caliper slides could froze up, is the spring on the brake pedal. Also buy yamaha pads, they last for the money.

check slides in caliper also if u still have your emergency brake hooked up its probably not releasing so put the block off on it i had to do the same 1 day riding and the pads were gone and was buyin the good pads. u get what u pay for

sounds like a toasted rotor to me. even if brakes are hangin up some 3-4 hours is very quick. and besides, if the brakes were hangin up that bad wouldnt u notice it when riding?

my rotor does not look bent but it is rough and has some grooves.

Should i buy a rotor or buy better pads and bleed the brakes?

If I was in your situation, I would replace the rotor. Think about an aftermarket 'wave' type of rotor, less weight and it'll run cooler. I'd also give the rear caliper a strip down and clean up ready for a fresh load of brake fluid.

What brand of pads have you been using? I just put some TUSK pads in mine which are working great. Can't comment on their 'lifespan' as I've only got a couple of hours on them. I did have EBC in before and they lasted well, I thought I'd try the TUSK as they are a lot cheaper and Tusk products seem to be proving to be quality products.

Rare.

that' what i thought too. i noticed mine hangin up as soon as i took off on it. turned around and headed back to the garage rather than roast my pads and rotor.

if your rotor's grooved, replace it and new pads together. clean out the caliper and drop some new fluid in there and bleed it out. make sure that the mounting bracket on the caliper is pressed back in also. that's what was dragging on mine rather than the caliper hanging up. B)

Def the rotor.

Replace the rotor and pads together like Milo said.

Grease the sliders while it's apart and make sure they aren't stuck.

You might also double check your axle nut torque. When mine worked loose the pads would wear like crazy, the rotor had enough play on the axle splines that it would wear against the right-hand pad whenever I turned left. Just something else to scope out, everyone else has good suggestions as well. Good luck.
