well first off after the recent rebiuld i finaly got her dynoed at 75 horsies.and after drag racing a few other banshees in the dirt, and loseing to just a piped one,i relized i have no traction.my wife took a video of me ripping down a dirt lane and i was roosting pretty good.ok now i know what the problem is, i sit to dam close to the tank and not enough over the rear tires.i heard of people putting blaster pegs on banshees for what i dont know, and i was looking at a rox risers,to pitch the bars back a little farther.and lastly I started with turf tamers no good, whent to razors, same thing, and now have razor2's.so ive tried different tires, and a -swinger is not a option, because im getting into hill climbs so i'll be going the other way.i cant break the habit of sitting on the tank, please help.!! :bolt:

Take your seat cover off (or get one) and put a piece of foam under the seat cover up next to your tank. It will make you want to move farther back. More foam = farther back.

I think blaster pegs are one of the best mods I have done. It always seemed to me that some lawyer at yamaha decided to make people sit forward on the bike to keep the front end down, so they make the pegs real far forward like on a harley. After a lifetime of riding dirtbikes, it seemed totally wrong as well as causing leg cramps on bumpy terrain. The blaster pegs put your feet right under your butt, makes riding much more comfortable and puts your ass back in the saddle where it wants to be. They do need some minor mods around the kicker and you can't use the heel baskets, so they're not for everyone, but I love mine. Getting a tig welder later this week, gonna fab the heel baskets back on. I used my original pegs to lengthen the blaster pegs for sidehilling. Makes it easier to ride with my honey on the back, too.

Shit. Don't be afraid to hang off the ass end. I'm runnin Ims pegs in the stock location and when I need to find more traction, I stick my ass on the rear fender off the damn seat. I get mean holeshots by doing that. You just gotta know the terrain. On pavement, I practically kiss the front fender to keep the nose down.

Definitely try movin' the pegs back. I did mine, not with Blaster pegs (I hear Raptor pegs also work and are wider or somethin' :shrugani: ), but we just lopped the pegs off the flat plate where it bolts to the frame, cut new plates out of about 1/4" flat plate steel, and welded on the pegs. Take a look at the stock pegs, mine are centered on the two bolts that hold the footpeg to the frame...

BUT unless you're sportin' Yeti feet size 15+ you'll also need to shorten the shift lever and the footbrake lever, or buy shorties. I just cut them and scabbed them back on a couple inches rearward.

Other than that, yeah either Rox risers or bars with a different bend may help too, I wouldn't suggest buckhorns but hey it's up to you heh.

You got the ponies, have you played with the gearing any at all?
