Freakin Diesel is 2.80 a gallon in Oregon! A by-product of regular fuel!!!! Premium is around 2.50 still where I live. If I had the up front money, I would buy 50 gallons of race gas last I checked you get a couple bucks off a gallon+ 20.00 deposit for the barrel. It is 5.00 bucks a gallon if you buy it a gallon at a time from the station though.

Its $1.95 to about $2.10 here

I know a guy that works at the Chevron refinery here and I axed him why come is the gas so much even though consumption is up?? He told me that they can only produce so much gas, and right now most of the refineries are at or near %100 production capacity. If they drop the price, people will buy even more, and it will cause a gas shortage, similar to what went on in the mid 70's. Not a good situation. Also, the refineries need to shut down partially for maintanence from time to time, and they cannot if they are at %100 production. If they have an accident or shut down from one refinery it affects tens of thousands of people on the gas consumption end, and hits hard and fast. He says most of the high price is to just curb consumption, but its also a great way to make lots of money in the process. But, I heard on the radio the other day a refinery hasn't even been built for 25 years. I can kind of see why. They can make more money, and if they build another refinery it might cost even more due to the start up cost and other related costs until its paid for itself. I don't have the exact price of a refinery, but I would be willing to bet if you added up the cost to build the refinery, staff it, and keep it running it would be in the billions of dollars. If a fucking casino in Vegas costs $1bil to build, I'm sure a refinery trumps that.

I can guarantee you'll never see the gas price go down though. It might dip, but it will never be $0.98 per gallon it was when I moved into this house 1999.

Ahhhh, I remember the good ol' days, when fuel was $.99/gallon. I just fillled up on the rezervation, Diesel was $2.05. At the normal pump, it is $2.40. It sucks. I haven't bought any gasoline in a long time however, and I haven't really payed much attention. SOmewhere over $2 I'm sure though.

Wheres all of that oil that were suppose to be pumping out of IRAQ.Thats the "other" reason we went over there isn't it?

I know,I know, regardless of how much oil we can pump out,we can only refine so much.I say,we sub it out to China, they already do most of the manufacturing for the U.S already.

I forgot, they told us to stay the f*ck out of there business with Taiwan, lets see how long it takes Bush to F that up.

Gas is 2.15-2.20 a gallon here, thats for the lawnmower grade.

It's all about cash is what i hear. Its the reason companies arent pushing the hybrid cars as much, and why ethonal isnt being mass produced yet. Because big business is making big bucks which makes the republicans happy. Just think though, wouldnt it be great if hybrids were in higher production. That would lower demand a lot and gas would be cheaper. Then if Ethenol was mass produced it would lower it even more but it would not only benefit gas consumers like us but also farmers who could benefit from higher demand in corn. Just thinking a little bit correct me if my logic is wrong.

Hell Bush has been trying to get it where we don't need to import oil from oversea's to meet our demands. It's the damn tree huggers and democrats that don't want us drilling in alaska and some of our national parks where our greatest oil reserves are. People are always quick to point the finger at Bush when they don't see the bigger picture. ;)
