Go to the auto parts store and buy 2qts. of automatic transmission fluid type F also known as ATF type F. drain your old transmission fluid and add the two quarts, the little bit extra fluid will help keep your ball from welding to the clutch rod and it wont hurt anything, i've been doing it this way since 2001 and havent had a bit of problems. and its a lot cheaper then the fluid that you will buy at the dealer.

That's what I run but there are many people who run many other things, you need to pick one that you can get easily. Most dealers carry Belray and it's not that expensive.

Me 2...I ran Valvoline 10w30 with my stock clutch until it burnt out,...then when I put in my dirtdigger I switched to the Belray 80w gearsaver...no complaints. I run about 1.75qts. ;)

Chevron 80W90 here, can't beat my price on it (free from work haha) and I'm still on the stock '96 clutch after I personally put almost 5 years of abuse on it, heh. Everybody's got an opinion on what to throw in there but I think everyone will agree that sticking with one brand/type of oil and changing it often is your best bet...

I agree on that last statement.

I ran a stock clutch for probably around 5 years too. It wasn't slipping noticeably when I replaced it; then I got to see how much it was really slipping, I was amazed...almost scared. :P:D

Bel Ray gearsaver here too, 1.8 quarts. Stock clutch is still holding up on my 4 mil, for now anyways.

Ben, Chevron makes a killer oil, best refined and the standard in additive packages. Generally everybody else gets their leftover package after their patent expires. So they are usually several yrs ahead of the game. Chevron for a standard dyno oil is probably the best oil produced.
