r6rider04 Posted January 25, 2005 Report Posted January 25, 2005 just curious if i should have been beating him or not. He's only got a pipe, jetting and an aftermarket cdi (extra 1000rpms), at the time i had toomey T5's reed spacers k&n filter, and mild port job Quote
01bansheefox Posted January 25, 2005 Report Posted January 25, 2005 and im guessing he beat you?? You didnt really say Quote
r6rider04 Posted January 25, 2005 Author Report Posted January 25, 2005 yes he did sorry about that Quote
rocketboy Posted January 26, 2005 Report Posted January 26, 2005 you have a ported she with t5s and you lost? you shouldve won by several bike lengths unless your opponent and you have drasticly different rider weights (300lbs) Quote
r6rider04 Posted January 26, 2005 Author Report Posted January 26, 2005 no we weigh the same i'm pretty sure i can get him i just can't hook up, never raced him on asphalt that might be different Quote
1800bigk Posted January 26, 2005 Report Posted January 26, 2005 Yes, I think you should definately be able to beat him. Race him on asphalt, if you still lose to him then dump more money into your engine, that always works Quote
r6rider04 Posted January 26, 2005 Author Report Posted January 26, 2005 i have dumped a few bucks since then, 4mm stroker and ported more i'm not too worried anymore Quote
Flo Jo Posted January 26, 2005 Report Posted January 26, 2005 i have dumped a few bucks since then, 4mm stroker and ported more i'm not too worried anymore 312179 I raced a bomb last weekend with my shee same mods as you he got me off the line but i reeled him in at the end. Quote
r6rider04 Posted January 26, 2005 Author Report Posted January 26, 2005 yeah i think i could have reeled him in too but we were on a short gravel road i couldn't evan get into 6th gear we'll see on the ice in a week or so still breaking in the fresh stroker and top end then... Quote
Mxracer776 Posted January 27, 2005 Report Posted January 27, 2005 my friend has a ds with the same mods and i kill him all the time. he's gotton so pissed he put more mods on and keeps asking me to race him. Quote
9603banshee Posted February 1, 2005 Report Posted February 1, 2005 my friend has a ds with the same mods and i kill him all the time. he's gotton so pissed he put more mods on and keeps asking me to race him. 312965 My question is, how many of you banshee riders have actually ridden a DS 650?? The reason I ask, is because I own both and am very equal minded about both, I'm actually more of a bansheeman than a ds lover, but if you line them both up dragging and the DS has a full exhaust and rev limiter, good luck banshee boys!! the DS will spank you filthy clean!! (I'll show you all, come to LS in OK!) Quote
ssanddemon Posted February 1, 2005 Report Posted February 1, 2005 (edited) My good buddy has a typical-mod DS and I simply walk all over him in the sand (and yes, he is an expert rider). His bike is a wheelie monster and a ton of fun, just not real fast. My banshee is pretty mild, something like 50 hp. I'm sure he would smoke me in dirt or gravel due to his 4-stroke grunt and my wheelspin. I think most of us can agree that dollar for dollar the banshee is faster, it just has trouble laying it down in certain terrain due to the power hit. Whenever I hear something like "this guy on a 4-stroke beat my banshee", I immediately suspect: #1. novice rider #2. gravel dragstrip #3. bike not set up right. Dollars to doughnuts the problem is one of those. Edited February 1, 2005 by ssanddemon Quote
FIRST BANSHEE Posted February 1, 2005 Report Posted February 1, 2005 gear up and race longer, tells abuot your next race... Quote
nosbanshee4u Posted February 1, 2005 Report Posted February 1, 2005 You guys might be oddly surprised what a DS with just a rev box and pipe and filter can do on a banshee given its a good rider. Many of you that see em out and around cannot ride and the only reeling in the DS will do is up until 55-60 then school is all over for that big yellow bus. DS's are by no means slow off the line or fast on top end obvioulsy(stock gearing) But I will still ride my bansh any day. Quote
