Justintoxicated Posted January 25, 2005 Report Posted January 25, 2005 Do the series 6 C-series form ITP weight more than Douglas Black Lable? I'm looking for rims to go on some 9 paddle extremes, but can't decide what rims to get. The C-series 6 say they are lighter than the 5's which average 7.5 lbs... But how much lighter? How much do black lable weight? I was thinking about getting blue lable again but Dunno how I bent my rim last time. Luckily it still holds air but I plan on doing a little more jumping after I get suspension. Still wanna be fast at the hill though. So how much do ITP 6 C Series Weight and how much do Douglas Black Lables weigh? been searching forever and I can't find the specs for the rims I need. Quote
Rescuejeff Posted January 25, 2005 Report Posted January 25, 2005 I don't think that the 6-series will fit a banshee, but they are stronger. The normal c-styles are very good, had no problems since i put them on the wifes quad last year. Quote

But what I really want to know is the difference in weight and strength between the 2. Quote
Rescuejeff Posted January 25, 2005 Report Posted January 25, 2005 I had a fit issue with them and dealt directly with ITP and they had all the info, give them a call or look on the website. Quote
05bansh Posted January 25, 2005 Report Posted January 25, 2005 Call Rocky Mountian ATV, they are very knowledgable about those type of things. Quote
DUNEDEMON Posted January 25, 2005 Report Posted January 25, 2005 I like to go directly to the source. Have you tried contacting ITP and Douglas regarding your question? They should be able to provide you weights. Nice meeting you last weekend, your bike runs good Quote
H250RHATER Posted January 25, 2005 Report Posted January 25, 2005 (edited) the black label rims are worse than the blue it goes yellow, red, blue, then black label (srongest to weekest) Edited January 25, 2005 by H250RHATER Quote
Leadfoot350 Posted January 26, 2005 Report Posted January 26, 2005 nope that not how the order goes. Get blue label rims. This is for sand right? Everyone I know has blue rims and have no problems with them uless they loose tire pressure and then the lip will bend but then all you have to do it take a dead blow hammer and beat it back and you can bearly tell. I have had the same rims for 4 years now at glamis and only had a problem once when the front right tire went flat and while unloading the quad off the truck my asshole ex-friend just droped the quad to the floor and bent the rim bad. All the other times we unload the quad this was out a 9" lift with 37" tires I have never bent a rim. Weight will slow you down dont do it. Quote

Black seems like a good compromise. Quote

I'm even considering going with blue lable again, although I'm not sure it is worth the couple bucks to have new tires mounted on old rims... Quote

However Performance wise Blue lable is king. Now to decide between Black and Blue lable since I do some jumping I'm thinking the extra .5 lbs (of Rotating Mass ) may be worth the sacrifice for a little extra strength. Quote
RNBRAD Posted February 1, 2005 Report Posted February 1, 2005 So I'm guessing that ITP's are a bit stronger and the C-series DEFINATELY are MUH MUCH Shinier and cooler looking I don't know what douglas rims you've been looking at but I guarantee you the C-series are not any shinier than the douglas. If they were I would have a set. Quote

FadedDreams Posted February 1, 2005 Report Posted February 1, 2005 The yellow are the Ultimate line of wheels.I know they cost alot more, but have you checked the weight on the Ultimate wheels. Quote

If they were I would have a set. 315142[/snapback] my friend just bought a set of Polished C-series for his 250R and they were WAY shinier than any douglas I have ever sceen, And I have 4 brand new rims ordered 2 years apart on mine. It almost looked liked his were chrome they were so shiny! Now if you get the unpolished ones the douglas will be way shinier in comparison. I don't think the ITP's spun tires like the Douglas which gives them the bling bling factor if you get the polished ones. Sceen it with my own eyes, and it's not a little difference it's ALOT! However they are too heavy for my tasts. .5 isn't a ton but 2 lbs difference or even 1.5 is alot. Since you multiply by 10 for rotating mass. THats like removing 30 lbs of junk from yur banshee, save another 4 lbs by getting real tires (shaved Extremes) and save another 80 lbs worth of dead weight. Believe the Ultimates are much Heavier but also alot stronger but I am not positive, they are about 3x-4x the cost too, so I don't think they are worth my time. This is for the normal C-series I guess the others are for 4x4's as mentioned Edited February 1, 2005 by Justintoxicated Quote
