Maverick302 Posted January 24, 2005 Report Posted January 24, 2005 Auto Exhaust Flame Thrower For this one, all you need is a car, a sparkplug, ignition wire and a switch. Install the spark plug into the last four or five inches of the tailpipeby drilling a hole that the plug can screw into easily. Attach the wire (this is regular insulated wire) to one side of the switch and to the spark plug. The other side of the switch is attached to the positive terminal on the battery. With the car running, simply hit the switch and watch the flames fly!!! Again be careful that no one is behind you! I have seen some of these flames go 20 feet!!! Bet that would work pretty damn well on a 2-stroke, especially dual exhausts. The CDI is right between the silencers too. Only problem would be getting the spark plug in there right. Unless you got rockets or cpi's, the stingers are probably too small. Don't know how the silencer would handle it either. Someone better try this before this post makes it to page 2 on gen discs. H250RHATER Posted January 24, 2005 Report Posted January 24, 2005 you probobly could get the fmf power cores #1 silencers and hollow them out Quote
89Steeda Posted January 24, 2005 Report Posted January 24, 2005 Your gonna need a coil to fire that plug also. The 12 volts ain't going to do it. Quote
PyRo_ZaCh Posted January 24, 2005 Report Posted January 24, 2005 i'm pretty sure you either have to be running rich, or briefly cut spark to the engine so it forces raw gas through for it to have something to ignight, i've also wondered how these work with the lack of oxygen after the fules been comusted. H250RHATER Posted January 24, 2005 Report Posted January 24, 2005 (edited) when i saw a car do it it sounded like he reved it up then the motorsounded like it stoped and right befor the motor stoped reving and turned on and a 5-foot flame shot Edited January 24, 2005 by H250RHATER Quote
y2kbanshee9187 Posted January 24, 2005 Report Posted January 24, 2005 Yea I've seen this on the old hot rods and stuff. Quote
Maverick302 Posted January 24, 2005 Author Report Posted January 24, 2005 2-strokes let some of the mixture out the exhaust before closing up the port, i guess that will ignite, then when it hits the air it will blow. It could be done to a banshee, but i'm not gonna hack up my fattys for a flame that might work. Quote
joshdagreat56 Posted January 24, 2005 Report Posted January 24, 2005 we putt one of these on a 55 buick. If you have a manual choke you can just choke and rev and get off the gas quick and get a flame but it wont be very big one.the ones you see with the big flames have propane running into the last part of the exhaust. loganskinner Posted January 24, 2005 Report Posted January 24, 2005 i heard that doesnt work on fuel injected engines. is that true? i didnt hear why. Quote
'99350t Posted January 24, 2005 Report Posted January 24, 2005 i heard that doesnt work on fuel injected engines. is that true? i didnt hear why. 311443[/snapback] its probably because of the 02 sensors, keeps them runing just right. i know on my old 85 ford (carbed, straight pipes) it can shoot flames out. i think the regular 12v battery can ignite the sparkplug....??? Nighty Posted January 25, 2005 Report Posted January 25, 2005 HMM would be nice to drill one of those spark plugs in my t5 Hush kit. hehe aim it straight up Nighty from hell, here to roost ya! WOOSH Quote

Ryda85 Posted January 25, 2005 Report Posted January 25, 2005 saw them install this on an episode of TRUCKS, just hook it up and make sure you dont have a catayitic converter....will not work with on of those Quote
