Well, its actually a buddy of mine..however he has no internet access.

Anyhow, He just recently purchase Toomey TR6's for his 2003 Banshee.

He attempted to install them himself, and successed...however are occuring some minor (at least I think) problems.

He said, He starts it up..and it runs FINE.. after warming it up for about 2-3 min....He takes its out for ride it boggs just a tad he says. After riding it for a few more min. the bogging got worse and eventually starting messing with the idle of the bike. Shutting it off after letting it idle down.

Finally after inspecting everything, only thing he could fine was that there was antifreeze dripping out of the radiator area ..as if it were overheating.

What could this be? I troubleshooted everything he did..and it sounds as if he installed them correctly.

Thanks for ANY help you can provide...

Rejet!

Don't know his mods or elevation prolly try around the 290 to310 range on the mains!

Word! Did he re- jet? If not, that is exactly why his bike is running like shiat.

In case jetting is a mystery to you here's the deal:

Anytime you modify the intake/exhaust of a carburated engine you allow more flow. The jets are small nozzles inside of the carburator that regulate how much fuel enters the engine. By adding the pipes you allow more air to go through so without changing the jets you'll develope a condition known as 'lean', meaning that there's too much air and not enough fuel. Being lean is a very serious condition and can cause you to overheat, seize, or even melt a hole right through your piston. Hopefully the damage done already isn't too severe.

Im sorry guys, I should have been more detailed. Yes he did re-jet the bike using the 280 provided. I myself have the same pipes and on the same year bike..and trouble shooted everything from start to finish and it seems as he did everything right. Who knows til I get down there though

Pull the jets again and clean them. Happened to me once.

The hesitation could be from a lean bog, he might be able to get some of that out by raising the needle. I'd also use the stock needle and not Toomey needles. Adjust the air screws and make sure the carbs are in sync...If the temps are cold out or he has a modded air box or aftermarket filter, then I'd look into larger mains and check the plugs..

I've got the toomey TR6 pipe kit on a 2001 Shee & let me tell you that Toomey is full of shit on their jetting suggestions. I'm at 2850 elevation, & on a 90 degree day the 280 main was too lean. A 310 was a lot closer, with lid on airbox, their filter supplied, & air box vents. The engine is stock otherwise. The pipes are great & really woke the Shee up though, this bitch is still pulling at the TOP of the hills I climb!
