05Special Posted December 16, 2004 Report Posted December 16, 2004 I saw a shee with 25's on it the other day... looking retarded. I need some advice on the best tire for mud and sand, also keeping a good amount of clearance in mind, i was thinking about mud sharks but im not sure..... any suggestions would be great. Thanks Quote

Thanks 293694[/snapback] Yo! Maxxis Sur Trak is exactly what you need. Get it in a 22" height for added clearance and you'll be set. $42 a pop at Rocky Mountain. Quote
J.J. Posted December 16, 2004 Report Posted December 16, 2004 Kenda Bearclaws, 22" 6-ply, these babies throw tennis ball size roost with ease, perfect for digging trenches... Your motor needs some balls to turn them though... Quote
locogato11283 Posted December 16, 2004 Report Posted December 16, 2004 with either one of those mud type tires you will more than likely have to do some regearing. not only are those tires taller than stock, but they will be heavier. unless you have a built engine dont forget to gear your engine back down. one tooth in the front should work out ok for you. personally i dont run tires like those but those maxxis tires look like theyd sling some serious shit. r6rider04 Posted December 16, 2004 Report Posted December 16, 2004 wow i wish my sur traks still looked like that they worked good for me and you can run them in either direction Quote
. Posted December 16, 2004 Report Posted December 16, 2004 yeah......sure would be nice if these tire companies would step up and start making some 20" tires that can sling some serious shit and give us the traction we need. When my realtors were brand new I'd sit at the bottom of a coal hill and watch 4strokes and bikes and all sorts of quads get these running starts on these hills and I'd just mosy up to the bottom of it, put it in second, rev it up and drop the clutch and shoot right up it. Boy did I have a shit eatin grin when I came back down past the other guys. Best thing going is the 20" blackwater for 20's, I'm just tired of sitting up on my gas tank with 22"s, and I've got 23's in the front. Quote
CowboyBanshee Posted December 17, 2004 Report Posted December 17, 2004 I hate my maxxis sur trax...they blow...by far and away...everywhere i ride..mountains..clay hills...sage flats...i love holeshots...no joke..hillclimbing on wet clay..or burnin around in the sand...best all around time i have ridden Quote
