westexgt
I have a 2001 banshee, with no port work (coming soon, though), it has a true and welded crank stock 350, .40 wiseco pistons, cool head, and about 150 lbs of compression (we are at about 3000 ft.), and raised exhaust ports. We mainly ride open dunes, a little drag racing. What pipe would be the best for my money? I was thinking CPI or PT's. Any help would be appreciated. banshdog
I have PC's, no complaints. I think that they rip, but i haven't ridden with any other pipes.
decon
if you plan on gettin a mild port, get some toomey t5's, they are more of a top end pipe so they are for dunes i'd say.
theeechozen1
CPI's or Rockets..... I have T-5's and love em but I would have gotton CPI's or Rockets if I could do it over again.
ledofthezep
Depends on what you plan on doing in the dunes. I switched from T-5's because I do more than just haul balls...I like to do technical stuff, switched to PC's & am a lot happier with their performance on the sand & dirt for that matter. They just suit my style. But yes...T-5's & CPI's are popular dune pipes.
Banchetta
Go w/ any high rev pipe. I'd say T5, Pt highs, CPI, PC, or maybe even rockets. I have tried rockets yet so I can't really comment on them.
westexgt
Well we ride open dunes, haul ass!!!! Then we will ride the occasional trail, I love my low end power from my FMF's, but they don't pull hard at all on top when we do that occasional drag race. I am looking for the ideal pipe that would give me low, mid and high all in the same combo. DO you think the CPI or rocket will give me the same low as my fmf fatty pipes and silencers do? racer
DO you think the CPI or rocket will give me the same low as my fmf fatty pipes and silencers do? Kevin no they wont. they are inframe drag pipes, especially the CPI's. im not really sure what rockets are

Kevin If you can find a pipe to give you more bottom like a Pt mid and more top then a CPI, then what would be the purpose of all the other pipes on the market.... If you want that, then get a set of powervalve cylinders for $4000. Pipes move the power from one end of the curve to the other. You won't find one pipe that'll do it all. westexgt
I am not saying that a set of pipes are going to give me all that power I don't have in every place I want it, but what I am saying is I don't want to spend a bunch of money on a set of pipes that rob me of all my low and just have mid and high. I want a pipe that has decent low and awesome mid and high. Yes I know that a bunch of that is how my banshee is put together and what kind of port work I do, but what kind of pipes you run is a very big part of that total combo. I am pretty sure the CPI or rockets will give me enough low end, and really make the power where I need it in the mid and upper ranges. I am fixing to try both T-5's and SST pipes this weekend, though. Kevin

Kevin no they wont. they are inframe drag pipes, especially the CPI's. im not really sure what rockets are The Rockets are also in frame Drag pipes, more top end pipes that actually pull about 500rpms higher then CPI's ive run both, and find the cpi to be better, another great banshee pipe is the SHear in frames, great all around pipe, Eddie sanders is selling them now for like 509 plated which is a killer deal! www.esr250.com
sredish
I love my low end power from my FMF's, but they don't pull hard at all on top when we do that occasional drag race. What "FMF" pipes do you have?? Are they Gnarlies? My fatties have more than enough top end with my single 35mm carb for me to hang with 90% of the quads in the dunes. The ones that leave me are the heavily ported and stroked shees. Or have you lowered your gearing to prevent your "top end" from ever coming about? What is your current gearing? Banchetta
I think the Pt mids give the best overall performance. They give more low end than any other twin pipe w/ awesome top end pull...
National Banshee
Best all around pipe for what you are describing= Pro Circuit. Weve run Turners, FMF, Toomey and CPI. Each good in differnt areas, but the PC"s are without a doubt the best no compromise pipes.
FATBANSHEE
I have a used set of SST's for sale for 300.+ shipping. there in excellent condition. the SST's are a great all around pipe. even though most people say they don't work good with porting they are wrong and never tried sst's on a ported motor. a couple engine builders agreed with me that they work great with porting. great all around broad spectrum pipe. just my .02 ...FAT Edited September 7, 2004 by FATBANSHEE
