Hi Guys looking for some quality Flat track parts. Let me know what you have. Thanks.
-
Hi, Im at 3000ft, We have one here with cylinder polishing only, stock airbox and filter. It runs 290 mains, stock pilots, needles in the middle position. This quad is pulling the CPIs and the Toomeys. Have fun..

Going from main jet from 280 to 230?
National Banshee replied to Bansheeman1121's topic in Jetting & Exhaust Forum
What alltitude are you riding at? It is odd that it worked well before, your jetting should't have changed. We have set up new Banshees with FMF Fatty's,everything else stock, at 3000FT alltitude and had to go down to 230 to make it run right, BUT THAT IS AT 3000FT ALTITUDE ONLY. -
Stock Banshee at sea level is 41.7 horse, With Pro Circuits, jetted properly they are 45.9 Horse.

Best all around pipe for what you are describing= Pro Circuit. Weve run Turners, FMF, Toomey and CPI. Each good in differnt areas, but the PC"s are without a doubt the best no compromise pipes.

If you are getting good steady spark, and fuel, you might want to check your compression. Good luck!

Octane Question Very Simple
National Banshee replied to itsmyforte's topic in Banshee Repairs and Mods
I agree, You really should run Premium fuel. -
Have you tried putting your old domes back on. If it runs fine with your 19'S then perhaps you are detonating. You wouldn't think anything else would change with just a dome change.
-
Why are you running your jetting so tight? Watch your plugs, jet it accordingly. If you are lean, your going to have to richen your jetting. One size isn"t going to make that much diffence on a hot day, just richen up your mains. Stick with your original fuel mixture.

That sounds like older FMF pipes. -
No need to rejet with the snorkel removed.

Sled Cuts Out When Floored.
National Banshee replied to Wassup350's topic in Banshee Repairs and Mods
Pull out the inlet needles and check for restriction behind the seats. You will have to unscrew the brass seats from the carb body. It's very common to have dirt or fuzz get trapped behind the seats. This will cause a restriction in fuel flow, and it will run out of gas. If you let it idle, it will take off again for a minute and then do the same thing. In other cases the dirt will hold the needle open causing it to flood just as you described. -
What Nerf Bars Are The Best?
National Banshee replied to Atvrider_96's topic in General Banshee Discussion
I just recieved my replacement set of AC Pro pegs. These new ones are excellant fit, and the welds are very nice. These have the rear guards as well. I belive it is important that your nerf bars provide as much protection as possible, to keep someone else's wheels from getting into yours. Some nerfs are to far in at the front. A good nerf will have a slight angle out, not be below the center of your wheels, and come as far ahead and back to keep a tire from getting in contact with the face of your tire. I have seen some that leave as much as 12 inches open in front of the rear wheel. That's just to much! The AC's are good, the Graydons are good, and even the DG's are a good set. -
What Should I Be Trying For Jets Here
National Banshee replied to LanceG60's topic in Jetting & Exhaust Forum
Once again it is important to know your elevation. 19cc domes at sea level would be a bit small in my opinion without 100% race gas. I am not a big fan of pushing the head volume that closley. If you burnt a hole in the top of the last piston, you were more than likely detonating, so I agree with whoever told you it was your fuel. Most people make the mistake of running to small a squish area and end up jetting it so rich to keep from blowing it up that there mods are worthless. If your altitude is less than 1500 ft, I would go to a 20cc dome set, then work safley on your jetting, but that is only my opinion. I assume your ignition timing is still stock? -
If you want a recomendation based on what you said, Woods riding and wanting acceleration, consider the Paul Turner mid range pipes. They accelerate hard, have a nice boost over stock at around 4000 rpm and a decent top end gain. You going to lose bottom end with any other pipe except a 2-1 setup. If your drag racing, and can hold the rpm at redline, drag pipes are the best. If you have to back out of it ocasionally, the Pro Circuits are great. If you are down to idle or backed completley off in the corners or on the trails, the mid pipes are great. If you think your going to drag a machine with drag pipes with a set of mid pipes, goodluck! You really have to decide what kind of riding you do and what pipe will work for how you ride. 90% of us think we need top end pipes. Most of us really need a well setup machine with midrange.

There's a dyno comparison on pipes that's pretty good on the Angelfire website. I wish I could post a link for you, it was done by dynojet. Do a search under banshee pipes dyno, It should come up as Angelfire. Dyno charts can be decieving, and it takes some thinking to properly evaluate what pipe might work the best for your needs. It's not always about the big numbers. Compare the Turners and the P.C pipes.

What Should I Be Trying For Jets Here
National Banshee replied to LanceG60's topic in Jetting & Exhaust Forum
Hi, The altitude you are riding at has a great deal to do with your jetting. 200 main is stock at sea level, At 20 degrees F you might need 220 mains, needles in the middle, with stock pipes. The 2 into one shouldn"t require very much more I don"t think. You might want to check with the pipe builder and see what they recomend, or learn how to read your plugs. There is a pretty good article at CT racings web site on how to read plugs. My guess would be around 240 you should be safe, but check your plugs carefully. What did the old pistons look like and what jetting wasn it then? Did it seize or melt the top of the pistons? -
A stock engine with T5"s puts out around 45 HP. Carbs, head , might add 15-20%. I think your close.

What Nerf Bars Are The Best?
National Banshee replied to Atvrider_96's topic in General Banshee Discussion
I just recieved a set of AC Pro peg nerfs with relocated pegs. They say they should be down 1 back 1, These are down 2 back3. You can't reach the shift pedal with your feet on the pegs with a size 9 boot. According to AC , there's something wrong(DAH). So back they go. The welds on these are 50% perfect, 50% garbage, 2 spots missed. AC admits they had problems but say they now have it sorted out. I sure hope so! -
If any two stroke with premix fuel sits for any length of time, the pilot jets in the carb will varnish shut. The gas evaporates but the oil and fuel additives remain and act like glue. Make shure you remove the pilots and clean them by running a small wire through them. A banshee is very prone due to its small pilot jet size. Need For Speed made a good point, Watch that you hooked up the choke hose between the two carbs.

Hi, I am having trouble understanding what you mean. Are you saying when its running, and you punch it wide open it wants to die?

Stock Yamaha piston rings in Canada retail at $30.91 per set at any dealer. If you cant find them for that in Manitoba, Call Riverside Yamaha in Edmonton. They have them in stock.

Do you want to sell the PT mids? How much? Where are you located? Thanks.

Problem With Fresh Topend
National Banshee replied to Justintoxicated's topic in Banshee Repairs and Mods
Hi guy's. The right cylinder(when sitting on the bike) is the clutch side, so if that crank seal is leaking, it can suck oil into the crankcase. Is it your right cylinder or your left? Also it is not likely that it"s burning enough oil to be very low on your dipstick. You can get it preasure tested, or just put it together and check your carbs first. Goodluck!
