Swing arm help!

Any tips on how to get the swingarm bolt out? I've got the nut off and beat the sh%& out of it with a rubber hammer. It hasn't budged. I've already taken the suspension linkage off, etc.

 

When I replaced my a-arm bushings, I had to use a regular hammer and ruined the threads..but I cut off the bad threads with a hacksaw. I really don't want to do this again. Please help

i had to heat mine up on the swing arm where the bolt slides threw and beat the shit out of it and finally about an hour later it came out what caused it was the bearings got seazed up on the bolt so plan on buying new bearing seals caps and a new bolt and nut as well cuz its all gonna be junk by the time u get done just be careful not to damage the engine casings or nething when applying the heat to that part of the swing arm

I've got the bearings and seals..but where can I get a new bolt and nut? I've I had a new bolt I'd just grab my sledge and beat the piss out of it even more.

u can get a new bolt and nut from yamaha i wouldnt use just a plan ol bolt from the hardware store but thats just me

Soak the shaft it in rusteater a few times over night, than Get a hard wood board or soft metal shaft place it on the bolt and hit it with a 2 pound hammer. Repete

this a few time and it should break loose. also a slide hammer on the head side and hit the other at the same time.

How do I soak the shaft? The bolt is inside the singarm . And what is rusteater? I've tried WD-40.

if you havent killed the threads already try threading the nut on a bit,and give it hell with a hammer.with the nut on it you have less chances killing the bolt and threads.get it moving and follow up with a centerpunch to push it through the rest of the way.is easy once you get it moving.and like oil said rust eater,wd-40, anykind of lube will help

i had to soak mine in some pb blaster for a few days, then beat the living hell out of it wth a 10 pound sledge, a few people on here had to cut off the other end, and nock it out that way, worse bolt to get outta the shee in my opinion

Yeah, thread the nut on and you might not f*ck it up as much, but I would order a new nut and bolt and just beat the hell out of it until it moves. I've read alot of horror stories about stuff seizing up where the swingarm bolt goes through.

I'll order a new bolt and then beat the F&^% out of the old one. Why doesn't the Clymer's address this? It just says "remove the bolt"----no shit.

I got a new bolt yesterday around $43.00 used a dead blow on mine then dropped it on the floor and jacked up the threads.
