yeah... it's more the stripping that i'm worried about :S... i'm going to wd-40 them up again tomorrow and wack 'em a bit and take my time... try the hammer trick too.

Has anyone ever e-z outted these screws before... i've read of a few guys with stripped screws on their carbs, lol...

leave the carbs in direct sunlight for an hour or so after you put wd40 on the screws

a flameless heat gun works best, just dont have any fuel in them, hold the heat gun way back so you cant light them up and just make them hot enough so that you can still touch them so you dont fry any rubber or plastic bits

if you do end up breaking the heads off it is probably a job for your local machine shop to drill them out

if you strip the thread in the holes in the carby you can buy a rethreader kit by RECOIL or something similar and drill, tap the holes to suit.

DISCLAIMER:

thats what i recon, but if you f*ck them dont blame me!!

lol

Take a Dremel or a small die-grinder and cut a slot in the head so that you can use a straight screwdriver to get the screw out. Then take those phillips head screws and throw them as far as you can, and then go to the hardware store and get allen cap screws to replace them.

Do what killer_shee said! That's the best way to do it. You can also buy a stripped screw extractor kit from sears. You just put it in a reversable drill, and push hard while running the drill slowly in reverse, and it'll come right out.

the screews on my 04 grizzly carbs were tighter than hell, I wanted to kick some guy on the assembly line in the scrotum for tightening them so tight. I ended up getting a small set of easy-outs at sears, and just back them out and replacing them with some allen head screws. Good luck

Try the small {4 inch. ) vice grips. Put the jaws of the vice grips around the head of the screws , clamp down and turn very slowley

before you do anything drastic try this...this has worked for me every time and doesnt damage the screws at all
