I like them soft enough that they soak up some of the sharp rocks and such that we ride through, but hard enough that it has a hard time getting down to the rim if you hit something pretty hard. I just wish they'd make a rounded kevlar belted tire. Those bandits have gone through some crazy rocks, and have slashes all over the sidewalls, but not once have I gotten a flat with them.
