OK guys, as some of you know, i rebuilt my engine, and when i got it together it was running right, took it to the stealer ship, well now its smoking right, both pipes are even, but low and behold the compreesion is 105 or 110 in each cylander, i still cant hit a solid powerband, and believe me, theres enogh heat cycles on it to be able to.... so wtf, its been down for 3 months, and i want to ride before summers fucking over, if this thing doesnt start running right im selling it, and getting a car....does neo ne have ne sugestions, on what to do??? jim ported and bored my cylanders, and gave me the pistons

did you check the compression before you set it to the dealer? you should get your money back adn send it out to him again. never send it to them. i would have told you everything you need to know about getting it too run right.

Why did you take it in to the dealer if it was running right?

Did you rejet your carbs for the porting, maybe your main is not giving it enough fuel, try pulling up your choke and see if it runs better or worse

did you have the head shaved ?? those compression numbers are low but could be caused because the rings are'nt seated yet. After an engine is broke is and has some miles on it, the compression usually rises.

 

Tell me how you performed the compression test.

 

whats the deal with the porting ? what did jim do ?? drag port or cleanup trail porting ??

 

stock carbs ?

I live in Pa, b wilkesbare/scranton, there is someone around here thats gonan help me, "h300f" if i pull the chocke out it baaaas, and stalls, i did rejet for porting, i put 340;s in, with 27.5's needles are 2nd from blunt side, but im going to the middle, and i got the trail mx port..., im onna put 320's, and then 30 pilots, see wha tha does, casue it kidna boos, if u tap it, or like give it a good amount of gas from idle....

You shouldn't have to rejet for porting. Rejet usually only with air flow increases. IE Pipes, Carbs, filter system etc. If jetted significantly after the porting then that may be your prob...

Doesn't porting increase the amount of airflow?

thats teh main thing porting does....lol, i tried screwing my air screws in, to see f my pilots were to small, but it bogged worse, i only screwdd em 1/2 turn out, i dont know.....its being a bitch, on top it breaks up, like its not getting enogh gas, ahhhh i dont know

If porting does increase air flow, then you should have jetted up quite a bit when you put it back together.

I run 370 mains with no port work. I run T5s and the 2:1 air filter system. Bike runs awesome.

If your beaking up on top,your too rich on your main.It sounds like your trying to change all the jets at one time.I would just do one at a time.Once you get the main,mess with the pilot,then mess with the needle,or however you want.But i would do the main first,least then its a little more ridable that way.I'm in Pa too,how close are you to Uniontown or maybe even Farmington.What type of carbs you have,stock??

I have an MX port from Passion racing. i am running a 340 main in stock carbs and 25 on the pilots. I live In pottsville...only about an hour or so from Willkesbarre. Take a look at my mods and see... I prolly could get away with a 330 main.

Ya, im running stock carbs, im going to go down on the pilots, and the mains, casue i think i am to rich... and see if tha helps, im still smokeing more on the right then the left, and im on my second head gasket, i noticed my oils goin down fast, so u know wha im saying, let it burn, let it burn....Man lots of people are from pa, im from dallas, its liek 10 min for wilkes-bare...

ok guys i put 330's in, and 25 pilots, it bogs so bad on 0-1/8th gas, teh middle seems perfact, but the top bogs....but its not a bog, its not waaaaaaa boooooooo, it wwaaa ahahnwdhwj, and it breaks up really bad..... when im over 3/4 gas, and i pull the choke, it bogs then and gets worse, im already at stock pilots, why is it still so bad, should i adjust the air screw....i also noticed, it almost seems like the left pipe isnt fireing 1/2 the time or missing or some shit, im running 94, and i put a new plug in.....and its still acting weird...ne sugestions, man i have way to many problems lol

Like I already tried to tell you, and like Jim said also, if your smoking

more on the right side than the left and you notice your tranny oil

level dropping, then your clutch side crank seal is bad. Its not going to

run right until you fix that.
