How much tranny fluid do i put into a empty gearbox i know it says 1500 cm3 on the case

1.6 quarts. Some people run 2. I've always ran a little over 1 & 1/2 quarts of Valvoline 10w30 and have never had any issues.

I'll get about 2 1/2 quarts in my tranny..takes time for the oil tio settle and work it's way into all the gears. I keep my level at about 1/2 on the dipstick.

after rebuild 1.8 qts.

does ne one actually go by the dipstick, casue with like 1.7 quarts im 1/2 up the dipstick

i use 1.8 ltres

used to do 1.7, now i just throw in 2 to make sure it stays above the ball n rod so they dont get welded

Clymers says 1.8qts. Exact conversion from 1500cm3 is 1.585032 qts, or 3.170065 pints, or 1.5L, or .3962581 gallons.... I have a cool program that does conversions.

 

I have always done 1.8qts.
