KYBanshee Posted April 13, 2004 Report Posted April 13, 2004 I just put a twist throttle on my shee, is it neccessary for me to install the idle kit. I dont need mt bike to idle, id rather it not adle at all, kinda like a motocross bike.will this work, running the twist throttle without the idle kit. Quote
Rescuejeff Posted April 14, 2004 Report Posted April 14, 2004 Depends on what kit you put on it, if it has TORS still, what else have you done with it. Quote
Meat Posted April 15, 2004 Report Posted April 15, 2004 you dont have to install the idle screws. you prolly wont get it to idle, so it will be like you said.......... id rather it not adle at all, kinda like a motocross bike . I JUST bought a idle screw kit on ebay for 14 bucks, brand new in the package They sell em at the local bike shop for 27 bucks. We're putting a twist throttle on my kids blaster this weekend, so I needed an idle screw. My 12 year old boy rides my Banshee, the first quad he ever rode by him self was one of my banshees. He rode a kx60 for 2 summers and now he wants a twist throttle on his Blaster. My kids crazy, he was jumpin' his stock shocked Blaster last weekend, his farthest jump measured 38 feet. His blaster rips Quote
Aussie Quad Racer Posted April 15, 2004 Report Posted April 15, 2004 you can put on a trist throttle and still have it idle, you only need an idle screw kit if you remove the tors tops Quote
banshee tuner Posted April 16, 2004 Report Posted April 16, 2004 You can get it to idle without the kit if you adjust the cables out on top of the carbs. It is just not the proper way to do it cause you wan't have the right amount of freeplay on the throttle and if your cable gets hung on something your bike will run off without you. So yes it will run but not the way it was intended to. I drove without mine idling for a day and it is a pain in the ass. Quote
MotulMonsta Posted April 16, 2004 Report Posted April 16, 2004 Your motocross bike won't idle? Who's your builder...fire him. You want your machine to idle..so when you let off the gas (and yes I know you will) it won't stall. I got my idle set so low people think my bike is puppy dog, but when I crack that throttle and beat em all out the gate..I laugh and ask them how my roost tastes. You want a good idleing machine..it's a sign of quality. Quote
Otis Posted April 16, 2004 Report Posted April 16, 2004 I had the twist w/ out the screws (before i knew anything about them) anyway.... Yeah you can get it to idle, but it'll run like crap(at least mine did)....i had no top end Quote
KYBanshee Posted April 16, 2004 Author Report Posted April 16, 2004 Thanks guy, but i figured it out. just got to give it a little fuel and shee starts right up(but doesn't idle, no big deal). and motulmonsta, ive rode motocross for 5 years and have fixed all my bike not to idle, and no you don't have to let off, you got to hold her wide open and clutch the shit out of it. That is if your fast enough, Im just being sarcastic, don't take it the wrong way. Thanks again Quote
