I think it would...if stock for stock the banshee is faster with an experienced rider....what would be the outcome with the 400cc powervalve kit i wonder?? all opinions opened....i have a friend who likes to brag about his 450, now dont get me wrong the 450 is fuckin awesome....but when the rider sucks ass theres a big big difference there....so yea..all opinion now in action.

with two identical riders the 450 is gonna be faster. i think even if the 450 rider is down on abilities the 450 will still take it. stock banshees are not that quick. the 450 on the other hand is. keep that in mind. as for the whole question at hand i think its only appropriate to just go and race. that would give you the answer to your question.

As much as I hate to say it, based upon my own record against the YFZ, I think the thumper is still going to have the edge. I've raced stock YFZs and ones with all the neat GYT stuff on them and basically, If I do everything right from the start to body position to hitting the shifts just right I might win against the GYT YFZ. The Stock YFZ is a little more forgiving and the Banshee has the edge (with pipes and a K&N anyway) in my opinion. The Banshee is still the ICON on the dunes but you have to give props to the younger leaner generation bringing the fight right to her.

Hey all,

I just rode a buddies yfz450 last weekend....To be honest with you... It wasnt everything I read about. Dont get me wrong its a nice bike. But it isnt a banshee. i felt really cramped on the 450....thats prolly cuz its a motocross bike. The banshee feels like a old caddy...big and roomy... compared to the 450.

Infact the 450 wasnt able to hang with me on the hills or the trails... i am by no means an expert rider nor was the 450 pilot. I was impressed with the 450s ability to keep on pulling till the very end. The 450 went up some hills chugging along in 2nd gear while my Shee screams in 3rd.....

My money is on the FMF 400 Banshee. If the FMF banshee has had the proper port work to accompany the kit it would be my bet with out a doubt.

Just my opinion...

The YFZ is a bad machine, but as mentioned above the banshee feels better. If you know our bike and are comfortable on it, you will be fine, no matter what you line up against. There is always going to be thta one hill were all the four stroke pwer in the world won't match up to a screaming twin spinning your haulers so fast you can hear them buzz as you blast up that gnarly steep no run at all powder soft dune. Even if the YFZ can do it, it won't be the same as the ' :bolt: SHEE
