Turbo J Posted March 17, 2004 Report Posted March 17, 2004 Is anyone running aftermarket steel braided brake lines. I have the stock ones now and want to know if it is worth the $$$ to convert. If you like them what kind are you useing and where did you get them from. Thanks Quote
boonman Posted March 17, 2004 Report Posted March 17, 2004 Get them. I love mine. I have no idea what kind they are. I got them off ebay for $35. Fantastic braking performance.... Quote
rebelbanshee2 Posted March 17, 2004 Report Posted March 17, 2004 steel braided lines are the cats pajamas. must have part if oyu like stopping fast. Quote
DUNEDEMON Posted March 17, 2004 Report Posted March 17, 2004 Much better "feel" to the brakes now, I have Galfer lines. A worthy investment. If you plan on going to aftermarket A arms or changing the length of your swing arm, you may want to factor this into your decision (longer lines for future mods). http://www.galferusa.com Quote
brugal Posted March 17, 2004 Report Posted March 17, 2004 A friend has them, I rode his bike and couldnt believe the difference it made, I will be getting some soon. Quote
banshee tuner Posted March 17, 2004 Report Posted March 17, 2004 I have them on the front, worth every penny. Quote
Foobie Posted March 18, 2004 Report Posted March 18, 2004 They are worth the money for sure! Instead of having to grab a hand full of brake lever to lock the front I can now 2 finger the fronts to get them to lock and the rear is really touchy! Dustin Quote
banshee tuner Posted March 19, 2004 Report Posted March 19, 2004 Where do you ride in jacksonville. I heard of half moon but have not been. Quote
Foobie Posted March 19, 2004 Report Posted March 19, 2004 I have ridden halfmoon and i don't like it. It is setup for dirtbikes. I normally ride at JMP (Jacksonville MX Park) Best track in this area. You also have Hawbranch and MX 58. PM me if you want to hook up some time. Dustin Quote
sredish Posted March 19, 2004 Report Posted March 19, 2004 Instead of having to grab a hand full of brake lever to lock the front I can now 2 finger the fronts to get them to lock and the rear is really touchy! Dammit!! That's what I need. Check out this auction and tell me what you think. I've posted this in the auction section too, but since this is going, I though I'd throw it in. sweetshee4312 Posted March 19, 2004 Report Posted March 19, 2004 jesus, i thought they just looked pretty, i didnt know they helped performance Quote
T469 Posted March 19, 2004 Report Posted March 19, 2004 they don't expand like the rubber hoses that come from the factory. makes for a solid brake feel. really helps the braking awhole lot. makes the back brake usable with them and not so spongy. if you're on black top and put you're weight on the front you can actually do stoppies with the steel braided lines.
