gomer Posted March 10, 2004 Report Posted March 10, 2004 i am wanting to run 22 in tires for more ground clearance i want it to be geared a little lower than stock would 13 front and 44 rear with 22in tires be lower than stock any advice would be great thanks alot Quote
supergrzz Posted March 10, 2004 Report Posted March 10, 2004 Do not use a 13. Use a 14-44+ set up. The 13 is bad on the chain guide up front. Also watch the rear skid plate. The chain may hit if the rear sprocket is too big. I have a buddie that is running 22s you should be fine with 14-43. Quote
gomer Posted March 10, 2004 Author Report Posted March 10, 2004 that is geared a little to high for me i was wanting it to be a little lower than stock ar at least stock and 42-13 is just right acording to my math how many links of chain will need i have a stock lenth swing arm will i need more chain then stock or the same or what Quote
gomer Posted March 11, 2004 Author Report Posted March 11, 2004 hey im in need of some help i love my banshee but for were i ride i drag it real bad i an wantin to go to 22in tires and also gear it a little lower than stock i have figured out what gearing i want for teh 22in tires i want either 44/14, 41/13 either of thoses with 22s will be around stock and the 42/13 is a little lower than stock if i go with the 44/14 will i have problems with it clearing th skid plate in the rear and will the 13 interfere with the chain slid also what chain is the best for the money i dont care if it is heavy i want it to be strong i weight over 300lbs so i dotn want it to strach and how many links will i need for the right gearing thanks alot Quote
MotulMonsta Posted March 11, 2004 Report Posted March 11, 2004 The best chain I've found id the D.I.D X-ring gold 520 chain. Match that with sunstar or sprocket specialist STEEL sprockets and you will have a good setup that will last. I order 110 links and cut the rest and save them if i ever need them. So far I haven't and I have a few old chains lying around that are still good. Get extra master links. TM design works make a great chain guide system for the banshee..worth twice it's weight in gold. I recoment you replace the stock swing arm chain slider with the TM one. 13 won't interfere with the chain slider as banshee's used to come stock with a 13/41 gear ratio. I recomend a 13/42 for 22 inch tires. Quote
gomer Posted March 11, 2004 Author Report Posted March 11, 2004 thanks alot the 13-42 is the gearing i was wanting to run i think it will be as close to stock as i can get Quote
supergrzz Posted March 11, 2004 Report Posted March 11, 2004 14-44 is what I would run with 22s. Like I said I do have buddies that are running 14-43 and 14-44 setups. But you pick what you like. I know from doing this myself that a 13 is not good on the slide. I too have a 99. Quote
snowprophet1 Posted March 25, 2004 Report Posted March 25, 2004 I have 22" itp holeshots and have no problem running stock rear sprocket w/a 15t front sprocket w/stock chain. The clearance is nice, and I think it actually pulls better w/the 15t. I do have pipes and mild motor work done, but nothing extreme (Yet!) Quote
locogato11283 Posted March 25, 2004 Report Posted March 25, 2004 I know from doing this myself that a 13 is not good on the slide. ive run a 12 tooth on mine for like 2 years and never had any problems. i run the primary drive cheap ass sprockets with a stock cheap ass chain roller and never once had a problem with either. what kind of problem did you have with yours?? banshee tuner Posted March 26, 2004 Report Posted March 26, 2004 Run whatever you like but I run the 15-41 and it does the best with a 20 inch tire. You might like the low gear but I don't like shifting gears that much. I also know guys running 15-41 with 22's and it does good also. Quote
