canadabanshee Posted March 9, 2004 Report Posted March 9, 2004 I got pro circuit pipes. Great pipe. But my pants melt on them. How do I clean the pipes Quote
roosthrower Posted March 9, 2004 Report Posted March 9, 2004 get a wire brush and some chrome cleaner and clean away. Quote
jumpman23 Posted March 9, 2004 Report Posted March 9, 2004 I have the same pipes and what I use 00 grade steel wool and then with some Mothers and they are shining again! Quote

MILO Posted March 11, 2004 Report Posted March 11, 2004 i've lost the mirror finish on my pc's, but they're still shiny. will mothers and a lot of elbow grease bring it back? never dull and fine steel wool hasn't done the trick. Quote
grounded Posted March 13, 2004 Report Posted March 13, 2004 Green scotch brite then mothers, I just did this a couple weeks ago, you need to use scotchbrite to get the melted stuff off. Quote
Wassup350 Posted March 13, 2004 Report Posted March 13, 2004 Thats why i usually wear jeans. Hot pipes are a bitch eh. Quote
sandman121383 Posted March 15, 2004 Report Posted March 15, 2004 ya def wear jeans. eagle one works pretty good too if u don't mind the elbow grease Quote
efward Posted March 15, 2004 Report Posted March 15, 2004 I've used Mothers and it took off some of my melted riding pants. The thicker stuff looks like it's on for good. I haven't tried the abrasive suggestions like steel wool etc. I get the feeling that I could get it off but wouldn't like the finish after I'm done. There's always a Dremel and the sanding wheel. 99Red_Roostr Posted March 15, 2004 Report Posted March 15, 2004 Clean them when they are HOT!! it works much faster and better. 99rr Quote
scotts96fast Posted March 16, 2004 Report Posted March 16, 2004 I have the same pipes and what I use 00 grade steel wool and then with some Mothers and they are shining again! yep steel wool is the ticket!! Quote
ranshee Posted March 16, 2004 Report Posted March 16, 2004 99 reds got the idea. When your on your ride and you stom for a break just pull a piece of steel wool out from under your seat and scrub away, comes off right away. Quote
KMAC Posted March 16, 2004 Report Posted March 16, 2004 I use this stuff called 'Easy aluminum polish', kinda cheesy I know, but the shit works better than mothers and you do one-tenth of the rubbn'. Try it you'll be impressed Quote
DUNEDEMON Posted March 16, 2004 Report Posted March 16, 2004 I would stay away from the "scotchbrite" I've found that it is so abrasive that it will scratch the chrome. #00 steel wool with some glass cleaner for lubrication works well for me. Quote
