I was wondering how long you could run a banshee wide open going down say, a long stretch of pavement. I've heard that if you hold it for longer than 10 sec. that it will blow the motor up. Is this true?

Around where I live and ride the longest I could probably hold it on the road would be about 15-17 seconds before you get to a sharp curve. So far the fastest thing I've seen go down my road was a cr 250 wide open at around 80 mph. That may change when I get my banshee. <_<

Well to further prove the point, I went out on the lake today, WOT for Oh at least a 1/2mile one way than WOT for another 1/2mile the other way, and she's still cooking, although thanks to teh ice I was overreving pretty badly through 3rd-4th gears.

what about a four stroke (like my ttr 125)? The longest I've held it wide open is about 4 to 5 seconds. Will it blow up if I hold it too long?

i would think you can hold a 4 stroke longer but i dont know for sure. eventually i think you will hit a rev limiter on a 4 stroke. i know ive had my banshee wound out for long periods of time b4. it sounds really bad but didnt seem to hurt anything.

LOL i wouldnt do this with the shee but i use to hold my Trail blazer at WOT for miles. It still runs like a champ too, gotta love american built machines. I held my shee at WOT b4 for too long b4 and blew it up pretty bad, don't know how long i held it though.

I ride mine to work regularly and there is a strech of strait flat road for about 10 miles and I run wide open for most of it. I let off here and there just to be kind to the engine but if I am ever running late enough and had to I would be full confident WTFO the whole way.
