In a nutshell if you are jetted in right or dialed in right (however you want to put it) you should be able to hold her wide open until you get tired. If the machine fails, there is a reason it did so. That is unless your shee turns 17ks...

Hi guys:

One additional note:

Make sure you're moving. If you run wide-open in a mud bog you'll overheat and toast something for shore. Besides you'll get the guy behind you (who didn't make it as far as you) all dirty. ;)

Regards,

Bill

mmhmm cant wait till Memorial day for the local mud bog.

Guy opens his property to us, small MX track, some woods trails and a big ol mud hole with 4x4 trucks runing through it.

Gotta get out there and show them up ;)

if jetted right you should be able to wot as long as you want.. most time if you burn it up it is when you let of the gas real qiuck and not blimp the throttle while slowing cause when you let off the gas all lubrication is gone ... feul cools the motor...and lubes it too.... just my 2 cents

well i ran my 2003 stock banshee at a drag strip through the 1/4 mile and she was to 103 mph.... but she wont be stock for long

dude you are so full of shit. I have rode mine wide open stock and slightly moded for much further than a 1/4 mile down hill even and lucky to hit 80. how can you come on a site called BANSHEE HQ and expect people to belive that shit?

Well, you'd have to be running a 17 tooth up front and a 41 tooth in back, or a 16/40 with 20" tires, and thats 104 mph at 11,000 rpm, but at 8,000 rpm thats a mere 75.5 mph.

A 15/41 with 22" tires, will give you a 105 mph at 11,000 rpm, but at 8,000 rpm your running 76 mph.

I don't believe a stock banshee will get much over 8k or 9k rpm, not sure exactly. Not too mention you'd have to have some cool power to pull that last little bit. Not going to happen with a stock shee. I'm sure someone can help me out on the rpm info of a stock and modded shee. I need to get a tach for my bike.

i've seen some dynos for banshees and some highly oded onjhes can run over 11,000 but i think the stocks shees aill olney run 8000-9000

Thanks master. One more thing, an outrageous 17/38 with 22" tires is at 105 at 9k rpm. With 20" tires you'd need a 18/38 to get it to 101 at 9k rpm. I don't think a stock shee can pull these gears, call me crazy. B)

I will say that xr's are a kick in the ass. If I had to own one thumper, it'd be an xr.
