Jackham Posted December 17, 2020 Report Posted December 17, 2020 First off all I was out riding on the roads and it was running fine taking it easy but when you give it lots of gas it splutters so took it back home thinking it was too lean. As I went to check plugs I could just unscrew them with my fingers. ( i have had them unscrew all way out while riding before). I then noticed the plugs where too rich? What could be the problem? Tedder Posted December 17, 2020 Report Posted December 17, 2020 Plugs backing out is always an indication of detonation and will likely lead to motor damage if the problems not corrected. Quote
SKEETER Posted December 17, 2020 Report Posted December 17, 2020 Trinity makes a plug lock, that will be the best way to keep them from coming out during detonation. Quote
sangheraent Posted December 20, 2020 Report Posted December 20, 2020 The better thing to do is to use higher octane fuel or have your domes cut to your fuel specs. Or what I did when I was young and poor was put locktight on the plugs. Quote

locogato11283 Posted December 26, 2020 Report Posted December 26, 2020 That MFer isn't rich if it's backing plugs out. Quote

the boris Posted December 31, 2020 Report Posted December 31, 2020 BTW what's the compression? Sent from my VOG-L29 using Tapatalk Quote
Jackham Posted January 2, 2021 Author Report Posted January 2, 2021 155psi each side Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Quote
the boris Posted January 2, 2021 Report Posted January 2, 2021 155psi each side Sent from my iPhone using TapatalkYou might either try some race gas or go to bigger size domes.155psi is high compression for standard gas I suppose. Sent from my VOG-L29 using Tapatalk Quote

Jackham Posted January 2, 2021 Author Report Posted January 2, 2021 Think I’ve sorted it I put octane booster with 99 Ron as that’s the highest we have in the uk and no plugs have come out yetSent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Quote
Jackham Posted January 2, 2021 Author Report Posted January 2, 2021 And I moved the clip up one on the needle and now it does not splutter or bog out. What a difference moving clip on the needle makes. WOWSent from my iPhone using Tapatalk 1 Quote

Tedder Posted January 3, 2021 Report Posted January 3, 2021 As you raise the clip it drops the needle into the main jet which leans it.
