Alright, ive finally got around to replacing my basket and I cant seem to get this 32mm nut off the clutch boss. Its the only thing giving me issues in this entire engine, anybody have any recommendation how to get the boss to stop spinning when I go to get it off? I don't have an impact or a clutch holding tool.

I've never done it myself since I have the few tools and specialty equipment needed for a Banshee teardown but if the motor is in the chassis and the chain is on just put it in gear and hold the rear brake to lock the trans main shaft?

Alright, I'll try that tomorrow, but at this point I might just end up buying an impact gun.

With an electric impact you can easily buzz the nut loose just holding the inner hub by hand

Yeah thats what i've seen from other people changing their basket.. Looking to see if theres any rentals around me before I go buy one because I don't know if I would use it for anything other than this 1 time.

I'm sure it's frowned upon, but I stick a big flat head screw driver between the fingers on the clutch basket down into the inner hub. Then use an impact.

If the clutch is still in, you just need the impact.

Alright, I was able to get the nut off with an impact that I borrowed.. Noticed the tab on the washer behind it was snapped, do I need that on there? I can buy one but it wont be here by the next time I'm going riding so I'm just wondering if its required or not.

Always new for me unless I happen to be doing an emergency fix at the track and don't have one.

To answer your question. I've got much invested in my stuff to risk running without it.

Same. I've broken them inside running motors before.. Luckily caught it before damage occurred.
