stock 2006 mods without moding the exhaust

i have abone stock 2006. i ride in nh with my kids and don't wanna mod the exhaust since there is a 300 dollar fine now. wondering are there any other performance mods i can make without putting on pipes? thanks for any help

You can get silencers to keep it legal on noise. Stock pipes are junk.

So anyone who buys a motorcycle or atv where you live can’t put on an aftermarket exhaust or they’re fined? 
best band for your buck is exhaust.

Timing plate, K&N Pro Flo intake, Cool head and domes. Any more then that and your gonna have to do pipes. Maybe you could do a set of Paul Turners in Black so they don’t catch on right away, but perhaps it would be more productive to oust your politicians up there.

Couldn’t one just modify the stock silencers to fit aftermarket pipes.
Don’t the silencers have the spark arrestor stamping so if you get stopped show them the stamps on stock silencers.

I don’t know the rules but my T5’s with the hush kit are very quiet and it’s spark arrested. There must be some decibel rule.    If so I would say the hush kit would be every bit as quiet as a stock yz250 or yfz450 ?
