Mandolezama Posted July 26, 2015 Report Posted July 26, 2015 My banshee is hard to start but if I take off the air filter and cover the carbs to get fuel in the carb starts right up Quote
oldskool Posted July 26, 2015 Report Posted July 26, 2015 Did this problem just begin with no changes to bike from you? If so, clean carbs, set floats and pay special attention to pilot jets/size Quote
Mandolezama Posted July 26, 2015 Author Report Posted July 26, 2015 The bike wasn't working when I got it had a bad stator I fixed it and now only this. It has Athena 392 big bore kit and bills pipes with stock carbs and reeds. Not sure what size pilot jets or any jets are in it Quote
Larry's Shee Posted July 26, 2015 Report Posted July 26, 2015 Had 27.5 and wouldn't start if sat for few days. Now with 30s starts anytime. Quote
Mandolezama Posted July 26, 2015 Author Report Posted July 26, 2015 Ok so I will replace my pilot jets with bigger ones. Should I worry about the main jets if it runs great once it gets started. And also what size pilot should I use. Thanks for all the help Quote
oldskool Posted July 27, 2015 Report Posted July 27, 2015 Clean carbs thoroughly, see what size pilot you have. you want to go up one size at a time OR clean the ones you have if they have been changed to a 27.5 or 30. Stock pilot is 25. You need to see what size main is also. Quote
Mandolezama Posted July 27, 2015 Author Report Posted July 27, 2015 Ok so I pulled off my carbs and my pilot jet is 25 which I assume is stock and my my main jet says AB320 on it so I'm guessing it's a 320. So should I go with a 27.5 or 30? Quote
Mandolezama Posted July 27, 2015 Author Report Posted July 27, 2015 Or should I go with something bigger than 30? Quote
hoppedupandcutdown Posted July 28, 2015 Report Posted July 28, 2015 you want to go up one size at a time. Stock pilot is 25. This, still. Quote
Mandolezama Posted July 28, 2015 Author Report Posted July 28, 2015 Ok just ordered some will update when they get here and installed thanks for all the help Quote

When I first start it after sitting a day it won't start unless I cover the carbs and kick it a few times then it will start right up and run great. Once I start it it idles good and runs good.
