ETR174 Posted August 19, 2014 Report Posted August 19, 2014 I've heard that getting a Advanced Timing Plate and setting it +4 Degrees will improve your low and mid RPM acceleration and I wanted to see if it is a good idea for my set up and see if there is anything else needed to be done after installing it. I have Wiseco forged 64.75mm pistons, Wiseco forged rods, crank, entire bottom end, and I run 93 octane gas with Golden Spectro 32:1 Also does this effect jetting at all? Quote
sycoticbanshee00 Posted August 19, 2014 Report Posted August 19, 2014 Can't go wrong with +4, I'm running +6 on mine, but on race fuel. Not sure on the jetting, but I heard to check your plugs to make sure it's not lean or anything. Quote
Bennett131 Posted August 19, 2014 Report Posted August 19, 2014 get one, and always check jetting after making modifications. Quote
trickedcarbine Posted August 19, 2014 Report Posted August 19, 2014 Yep. + 4 is good. No head work right? Just check the plugs for deto and heat. Quote
ETR174 Posted August 19, 2014 Author Report Posted August 19, 2014 Ok thanks. No head work. No porting. Will the advanced timing make my motor revv faster? Quote
trickedcarbine Posted August 19, 2014 Report Posted August 19, 2014 Get up in the revs faster yes. More rpm, no. Actually less RPM. Quote
ETR174 Posted August 19, 2014 Author Report Posted August 19, 2014 Ok yeah that's what I meant. Ok, there a brand you would recommend? Quote
ETR174 Posted August 19, 2014 Author Report Posted August 19, 2014 Alright thanks When I get some money that'll be the next thing on my list lol Quote
jbooker82 Posted August 19, 2014 Report Posted August 19, 2014 At this point I would pass on the cheap cast plates in favor of a billet plate. I have a Pro Design in mine but it was before you really had choices on which billet plate you wanted to run. Quote
trickedcarbine Posted August 19, 2014 Report Posted August 19, 2014 Like I said, Mattoon or Chariot. Quote
ETR174 Posted August 19, 2014 Author Report Posted August 19, 2014 Well I hate to go with a cheap one but I'm desperate lol Would this work? http://pages.ebay.com/motors/link/?nav=item.view&id=331271238981&alt=web Quote
sprinklerman Posted August 19, 2014 Report Posted August 19, 2014 Just mod your stock one for free ifyou want to go cheapest route. 1 Quote
ETR174 Posted August 19, 2014 Author Report Posted August 19, 2014 I would do that but I feel like I would screw it up. Quote
