trickedcarbine
Clay? Sand? Hard pack/sand combo? Rich loamy soil? Creek beds with mud? Gravel? A lot of those coal hill guys used to say they were trail guys...... Now they run the dumbo diggers. Far cry from trail tire. You'll get a bunch of answers and some will work and some won't. But you won't know with out giving specifics. Trails....... Well that's kinda vague.
LA98SHEE
It's a lot of hard packed clay and regular dirt no sand or coal or anything Edited July 28, 2014 by LA98SHEE

scottierass
I'm also curious about size. I ride trails that are class 5 in areas and sand in others. I think the 20's look big in the rear and think I don't need the size for top speed. What do you guys think? 18's?
WINDYCITYJOHN400
Hate the idea. 18" are for MX 20" are perfect trail tires.
trickedcarbine
Not enough clearance for 18's in the wild. Maybe on a groomed MX track, but 20's will get you through the shittiest of shit. Anything worse be you should be on something utility like.
scottierass
Thanks guys I appreciate it. I'll stick with the 20" tires. I just don't like the look of how close they are to the stock heel guards. But in the long run, a longer swing arm should take care of that.
