Ok I have a 10mil cub 1-5 n-down override I race at west michigan sand drag way. My second gear breaks 1st launch of the weekend everytime. I am going to indicate the shafts tomorrow to see if they are bent. Or will a bent fork do this? The teeth are stripping off the smaller gear dogs are fine. I weigh 230lbs this could also play a role I guess

We had that issue with our asphalt bike. Second gear is one of the weak links in a Banshee tranny. A billet second gear will stop the breakage problem.

110-120 can for sure break gears. Especially full size rider and good track. I think I will have a billet 2-5 for sale shortly.

It doesn't take a big motor to break one. The one we "learned" on was a little 358 cub. Since going to billet back in 2006 we've never once had another break.

Asphalt gives ZERO FUCKS about your motor....... It will promptly make sure you know what the next weak link is. I've only seen one bike break 2nd on sand and it was about 120hp bike. Yet I've seen many failures on asphalt in motors from 90 hp stock cyls to 100+ hp cubs. That shit is aggressive and really takes it's toll on a motor.
