sleeper06 Posted April 20, 2014 Report Posted April 20, 2014 This is the first time I have ever experienced this with american racers, I know the tires are growing but how do I fix it? It was smooth from launch thru 4th then just about to click 5th started to death wobble. Im thinking of high speed balancing or more air. Tires are ar 20.5/10/10 . This was with 7psi and no clutch tune yet it was maidin voyage. It spun tires for about 15ft. As it is . I can get the clutch to handle that but the wobble is terrible Quote
Surfrjag Posted April 20, 2014 Report Posted April 20, 2014 Did someone put slime in tire? Axle isnt bent is it? Wheels been drilled to fit yamaha? Quote

Does anyone know acceptible runout on an axle? Yes rob this shit was fast it will toast my bike on alky Quote
SlowerThanYou Posted April 20, 2014 Report Posted April 20, 2014 We bubble balance ours, most take a lot of weight to get them balanced. Quote
Tedder Posted April 20, 2014 Report Posted April 20, 2014 We bubble balance ours, most take a lot of weight to get them balanced. Yep, American Racers are usually way out of balance. Bubble balance using stick on weights and they'll be smooth as silk. Quote
sleeper06 Posted April 20, 2014 Author Report Posted April 20, 2014 I guess ive been lucky all these years thnks guys, this is a customers bike first real ride, everything was flawless didnt even have to change a jet ran perfect. I gotta do a lil clutch tuning to make it more user friendly and I might have to put a steering stabilizer in it for him Quote
sleeper06 Posted April 20, 2014 Author Report Posted April 20, 2014 Thnks again for all responses Quote
SlowerThanYou Posted April 20, 2014 Report Posted April 20, 2014 That big of tire also compounds the problem. Quote
sleeper06 Posted April 20, 2014 Author Report Posted April 20, 2014 Def not my first choice of sizes but tires were bought off a part out at a killer price I would of liked 19/8/10 but is what it is Quote

trickedcarbine Posted April 30, 2014 Report Posted April 30, 2014 Who can balance the smaller tire/wheels? I need a set of tires balanced and the folks at the bell tire might as well told me to go stick my mini tires where the sun don't shine. Quote

We have a smaller Snap-on wheel balancer we do the ATV and motorcycle wheels with. Quote

He had to use a bunch of diffrent spacers to get er sitting rite but worked great, as soon as it stops raining here ill report back Quote
VoOK Posted May 1, 2014 Report Posted May 1, 2014 I had a similar issue once, turned out the hub loosened up. Castle nut had play. Quote
